Performing Arts/Dance Category

Please add a new, separate category for Performing Arts (separate from "Music" and "Art") and/or Dance. Creators who streamed dance and other performing art forms are left stranded with no category after the elimination of the "Music & Performing Arts" category. These creators now have a much harder time reaching an audience.

PLEASE! :) This would be so wonderful! Performance is so much more involved than just music and a lot of us out here put everything we have into it. I would love better discoverability for my blacklight hula hooping and dance performances. :D

Yes please, dancers need more representation, and a way to more easily connect with each other!

That would be a great thing.

Been hoping for this for a while! There are plenty of circus/flow/movement artists that aren't being represented accurately under any current category on the platform. Myself included. I hope to see this!
  • dawdust commented  ·   ·  Report

Yes, this. Heaps of movement artists out there using "Music" or "Just Chatting" as a hold-out category.

Please add this! I use Just Chatting or Music for my performance streams and they definitely don't fit into anything else. I would love to be able to be discovered on Twitch for what I actually do - perform!

Dance category would be great. Me and some friends already teach online classes or share our experiences while on tour with our audiences and supporters. Music and performing arts is broad as it covers everything from producing to live theatre. Someone looking specifically for dancing might not know where to look.

We already have events from dance competitions who are streaming to twitch and it would be great to be able to find them in one category instead of checking Just Chatting, Music, or etc.
Having a dance category for people to be able to show their talent or have events would be probably the most amazing thing to have.
So yes to us having a dance category again

    Yes please!
A Dance category would be fantastic, merging the dance scene, may it be VR or RL, into one!
    Please do this!

This category would be amazing considering the many different dancers around the world that are hard to come across. Being able to have a set category that all dancers can come together and become connected would be amazing. This category will allow for a supportive community relative to dancing that will flourish into something beautiful because of how being connected with people that dance is one of the main things that keeps me motivated, this category will make this even more possible. Dancing is not limited due to the fact of how different individuals incorporate their expression into music. Being able to bounce off of ideas about dance, meet new dancers, dance with people, etc will mark a community that will develop into something dancers can call home. I believe that adding a dance category will greatly benefit Twitch as a platform as well.

I paint for a living, but painting doesn't come from nothing, it's influenced by music and dance, and I respect them.
So, from a painter's point of view, I respect this opinion.
