Virtual Avatar Tag for Vstreamers/Vtubers

The rise of the VR industry and the relatively new phenomenon of Virtual Streamers and Virtual Youtubers has made impact on sites like Twitch as well. There is a very large (800+ and growing) community of streamers on twitch who use a virtual avatar combined with face tracking software to use instead of webcams. VR is already a tag, but it would be nice to distinguish this category for those who use avatars and may play the role of a character. (like HoloLive, for example) It's not much different than having Anime as a tag, for example.

HeyGuys!

Super excited to share that we now have a “Vtuber” tag on Twitch!

In the past I had posted on how tags were aimed at the stream and not the streamer, but we have changed our thinking on this as of today and added more than 350 new tags, including this one.

Changes like this are possible because of feedback and threads like this so I just wanted to say thank you again for sharing feedback with us.

For more information, you can take a look at our blog post at https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

I remember trying to type the Vtuber tag in for the first time when I got my model finished, and being disappointed it wasn't already one! Please add this tag for us : D

Please Twitch!! This will make us leave the Anime tag (which is supposed to be for art...)

Please add this tag, it would be so helpful to viewers especially since there are a wide variety of vtubers across all genres.

This tag would also help other Vtubers find each other so that the community could more-easily come together!

Of course! I have found all my favorite Vtubers but other people should have the chance to have an easier time finding theirs

This is a great way to keep track of our peers that use Twitch as a livestreaming platform, as well as a way to introduce creators in our space to a wider audience. Please make this happen!

Yes please... Should be a no-brainer, Twitch

I support that idea I hope it become a tag on twitch.

With the large rise in "virtual" content creators, and the huge audience that is vocally seeking out creators of this kind, having a way to find more streams through this tag addition opens the door to more twitch users as well. Large audiences on other stream platforms would then have a way to find VTubers on Twitch in a consistent way.
