Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

The LGBTQIA+ community on Twitch has been a much needed safe space for me during 2020- a time when we are all feeling disconnected and alone. The trans community is strong, supportive, and resilient. The trans community does not need Twitch to take a paternalistic role to protect it. As long as trans folk and allies can find ways to stay together, we can support each other and ensure that these spaces are ours and they are safe. Simply put, a trans tag will ensure that this community is strong and safe. A trans tag will help us build our community and stay strong, together. Twitch does not need to protect us, Twitch just needs to make sure we can find each other to support each other.

"We're working on a great plan but we're not going to tell you what it is" is really not great optics these days.
Just do it, and *then* improve on it.

The few of my trans/enby siblings that have found my channel have said how my community is the only place they have they can talk about certain things and be understood.
Being trans can be very isolating and the current global pandemic only makes this worse. Please help us to find each other and to have places we can safely be ourselves.

mouse, your own analytics show that LGBTQIA+ accounts for 100% of tags people have used to find my channel. Please, give us a useful tool to identify and find members of our community. Nobody is ever forced to use an identifying tag, and everyone can opt out if they find there's unmanageable harassment. Others have commented, accurately, that this refusal is actually a form of transphobia coming from twitch, regardless of your intentions.

Dear Twitch,
What better solution do you have other than just giving us the tag???

I feel like one of the concerns that Twitch fears is DIRECT hatred or all types of discrimination heading towards those specific creators, but then again they can ban those trying to spread hate, but will it be overwhelming high or manageable?
A SAFE haven and a physical acknowledgement (in the form of a tag) would VALIDATED not only the viewers, but ALSO the beautiful TRANS streamers who support and make up what Twitch is AND for the whole trans community is ESSENTIAL and vital.
TL;DR . . . . . JUST DO IT!

It is essential that this tag is added to Twitch! I hear you claim that you are working on something, but this needs to be taken care of... yesterday.
We need bold actions, not silence or empty promises of something else eventually some day. You promised you would do better. You asked your community to hold you accountable, and your community is telling you how to do better right now. Now is the perfect time.
