Allow users to create taxonomies/categories to sort streamers they follow.
I would like to be able to sort the streamers I follow into different categories, perhaps based on a taxonomy system. For instance, I follow a lot of Rocket League streamers, I also follow a lot of Zelda streamers, and I follow a lot of musicians. I would like to be able to tag these streamers. So I may tag Rocket League streamers with: "Rocket League," "Games," "Funny," etc. And I may tag music streamers with "Original Music," "Covers," "Funny," etc. Then when I go to my follow page, I could easily sort and display streamers I am in the mood to look at.
In the example above, to take it further, if I clicked "Funny," I would see Rocket League and Music streamers who I've tagged as "Funny," and that's fine with me.
To take it even further, perhaps I could even choose to view other viewers' recommended tags (it could be like the Recommended section at the bottom of the follow page currently), to discover new "Rocket League" streamers or "Original Music" streamers, etc.
Thanks!

I am following about 143 streamers at the moment and when more than one is streaming I like to hop about the channels. If I could separate them into collapsible categories that I make myself then it would go a long way to tidying up my overview and let me find what I'm looking for.

wanna group the following channels with my own browsing preference (e.g. by games, by teams etc), since it's hard to locate/browse them when I am following 100+ channels...

Alright, here we go. I've thought of an really good idea:
It's just going to sort out your stuff so not everything is mixed and you have to search for anything.- Making groups for twitch streams, as we all know. On the left side on the bar there are all the Online streamers and the ones who are currently offline.
As you might know, and you are probably one of them as well, I've seen a lot of people following huge group of streamers, whether they are their friends, they are playing a game they like etc..
So, the point in grouping up here, is so you could sort out all the streams you have followed. For example myself, I would have my "Favorite" session on the top as a group of all the streams I really love. Then you can sort out the streamers by the game, Clans or whatever.
So when there are lots of streamers online at the same time, you have a better view who to watch first.
You might now think its really needed, but there are thousands of people who follow around 150+ streams, this would help them sort them out by Game, by Clans, or whatever they would like.
The example of a group would look like:
My Favorite streams: (2/10) Where you clearly see that there are 2 streams online from your Favorites and rest is currently offline.About the friendlist part, it has a same potential like this suggestion, sort out your friendlist in few groups, Friends, Family, Clan or whatever you'd like to.
I hope other people will understand this feature and I hope people will support it.

This is a fantastic idea. Exactly what I'm looking for. I sub and follow over a hundred streamers. Most of those don't show up "above the fold" on my following page (and especially not on mobile). This would allow me to specify which streamers should take priority over others in my feed.

Have a filter so that you can reorder the streamers you follow on the left so that you can filter it by "the time you spend watching each streamer", rather than ordering the streamers by the amount of viewers they having watching their channel

Give viewers the ability to favorite their favorite channels. These favorited channels will take priority on the new "following" bar on the left.
For example, the viewer follows TimTheTatMan, Summit1G, Lirik.
All of which stream relatively around the same time. However, the streamer is partial to watching Lirik over the other two. Favoriting Lirik would put him towards the top of this 'following' list on the left, to allow quick access to the viewer. This is a grand option for viewers that enjoy smaller channels but still have follows on the larger ones, as it bump the smaller channels to the top of their following list.

Add the ability to assign a priority to some of your followed channels to make them show up before channels with higher number of viewers.
This could be achieved either by added those channels to a strict priority list (like auto-hosting feature has) or simply assigning a channel as "preferred" with a flag.
A number of channels I prefer have a lot lower viewer numbers than the bigger channels I follow and better being able to see that they are live will improve the experience immensely. -

It would be great to be able to somehow categorize streams you follow, something like tags to use for filtering.
