Ally tag request
As we all know having safe spaces for queer people is really important and currently there is no tag for this on Twitch. This has meant that a lot of people have been using the LGBTQIA+ tag to represent a safe zone. There has been controversy in cis straight people using this tag and adding a tag for Allies would easily remedy this issue.
Hey there!
Today we added more than 350 new tags, including a standalone “Ally” tag, and updated the existing “LGBTQIA+” tag to remove references to ally.
For more information, you can take a look at our blog post at https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/. Thank you for your feedback!

That makes no sense... How does making a tag make you safer? It just makes streamers easier to target for bigots... The streamer's stream place is a safe place for the streamer, it's up to them how they enforce their ideals, not the chat member. It shouldn't matter what ****** orientation or gender identity the streamer is, people enjoy the streamer for their personality, like if I said I only like queer streamers, yes that would be offensive. I don't care how the streamer conducts themselves personally, I just have to like them otherwise it just feels like an agenda. Thinking about it, how would mentioning that your queer have any relevancy? It's so specific and irrelevant, if people don't like you based on that, that's on them, you can't change their opinion about that however if that's all they don't like about you, grow up, everyone has a complaint about someone else. If the streamer doesn't like that factor of someone being queer, the best they can do is ban you, at that point you can just watch someone else or continue watching. You don't have to be a vegan and announce your queer (or vegan) when you join chat, it's totally irrelevant as a factor on if someone should like you.

Came here to make the same ask, as much as the LGBTQ+ tag does say "for allies" I think it's more sensible that when you search by this tag, you are provided a list of queer creators. Allies use this tag to simply say "this is a safe space for..." and why dilute the tag for that? Create an ally tag, then the LGBTQ+ tag will be a reliable source for queer creator promotion.

Hi,
I would like to request an Ally or Accomplice tag for the LGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an accomplice, but am not LGBTQIA+. I want to make sure people know that my space is a safe space.
