Random Stream Button
The discovery page lacks a "Play Random" feature. It might be fun and interesting to enter a random stream in a Category. It might help casual and new users find entertaining streams much easily and faster.
The user that clicks on the button will be forwarded to a random stream in the previously chosen category. To find another stream the user will simply click on the same button that will appear on the header of the page.

add a "random" button so that we can randomly watch someone's broadcast, + it helps small streamers!

I'd suggest there one for global, and one in each category. I think it's a great idea, and shouldn't impact anything negatively.

How about this. We have a random stream button, which will cycle between streamers that have under 10 viewers each time you click it. Twitch could give incentive to use the button a certain amount of times each week.
Simple and could grow the community from the bottom up. -

Button can be anywhere, i.e., front page, inside the channels category. You will be directed to a random live channel. Also, this button can be more specific in that you can have it within a game category or in the real life categories so you can be taken randomly into a stream within those categories. I find it time consuming to look for a random channel myself with all the down scrolling and going in and out of channels. I don't go beyond the 3 top streamers in any section because l don't have the time to look for other streams that may be more entertaining for me. This will likely give more exposure to small streams that may become the next big thing on Twitch. Reddit has a similar button and l have discovered many subreddits I would never would have found on my own that l thoroughly enjoy.

My idea is quite simple. Twitch streamers are ranked by current number of viewers by default. which is perfectly fine. I propose a "randomize" feature, to allow viewers to randomly select a game or streamer within the game channel. It can either be a sort or button option. It would be a small button located near the top or side of the page.
Button Example - "Roll the Dice" (button pictured as a die, each a different color)
Game Die: A small button, when clicked by the viewer, that will direct the viewer to a random game channel.
Steamer Die: A small button within the game channel, when clicked, that will direct the viewer to a random streamer within the game channel.
The viewer could re-roll the die as many time has she/he wishes.
...or a simple sort option, allowing the viewer to sort games and streamers by random, instead of by number of viewers.
The button need not be a die, but I think the concept is clear. I think it could allow lesser viewed games and streamers break through the ice. Let's face it, there is no question a huge barrier exists for games/steamers at the bottom of the #views sort, everyone knows this.
Ultimately, the default (#viewers) sort would remain but would allow curious viewers to delve to the bottom and see fresh faces.
Any thoughts, recommendations, or criticisms? I know many people have offered ideas to promote the bottom.

Great Idea! Maybe one of the Twitch Spotlight channels on the homepage could be the roulette button? It might auto cycle through every 90 seconds, and if you find one you like, just hit the link to their channel?

I know there is a random directory but I would like to see a button where it pulls up a single random stream that you can watch. Any view count. No favoritism. It's a chore sometimes to sort thru so many bottom directory channels and give newer channels or worn out older a chance. If you don't like the channel it gives after watching a bit just hit the button again, bam. New channel!

Somthing kinda like chatroulette maybe? Or a surprise me button.
Sometimes I just want to see something new. But trying to browse through so many channels can be overwhelming and I just end up scrolling and scrolling never really go in the the channels. It would give new streamers a chance too I think.

This is already possible via the following page by going through the sidebar as channels -> random: http://www.twitch.tv/directory/random
