Trans tag request

It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

We’ll send you updates on this idea

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).

We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.

Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

Commenting AGAIN to say please add this ASAP. It is literally 1 database entry, Twitch. It is not that hard.

    > We will update this thread occasionally just to let you know we’re still here,

You stopped doing this, and you did nothing.

    Just do it.

please add a Trans tag! Twitch is all about community, and adding a Trans tag would really help trans people find each other and build safe and welcoming communities. the LGBTQIA+ tag is great and should stay, but trans people have additional needs that aren't being met by that one generic tag. the LGBTQIA+ community is not a monolith!

This would be an amazing addition to tags. Help people know the creator is trans (and help them know to be respectful) and create an ability for me to help support my fellow trans streamers!!!

Stop ignoring us and give us our tag so we can build our community stronger and support each other.

I don't know what you thought you were going to accomplish by basically deleting the town hall post, but you failed. Trans Tag When, Twitch? Give us an answer.

Merging this in another thread and hoping it will all go away doesn't look good for you, Twitch HQ.

You might as well come out and say you don't want to do it.

Just add it. You’ve spent ages on this idea and trans creators need this. Just add it already!

We haven't forgotten about you, but we chose to do nothing instead. That's worse than forgetting. You are intentionally ignoring us instead. Great PR, really setting your stage well huh?

lqbtq+ tag already exists. this is unnecessary.

This is getting ridiculous, it's been well over a year since the idea was suggested, then they show up once several months ago to say they're still considering the tag, and then...nothing. What's going on?

im a trans streamer hands down this benifits us and has more power to our culture in gaming!!!!! WE NEED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • ChipWhitehouse commented  ·   ·  Report

ABSOLUTELY ADD THIS!!! This should not even be a question! YES! YES! YES!
  • AureleDeChrist commented  ·   ·  Report

We need all the reasons why this was not implemented yet, despite having an enormous positive response on the request itself.
  • AJpls commented  ·   ·  Report

Trans tag NOW please and thank you. Over 4K people showed their support for the tag and deserve a response and a solution.
