Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

Trans creators are some of the best creators, let me find them more easily, but also help them moderate their channels.

Two years... TWO YEARS. Come on Twitch. You go and do the womxn thing that no one ever asked for, so why won't you do something that literally thousands of people have been asking for... for TWO YEARS.
Seriously. It's really kinda insulting that you think so little of us. You won't even give anything more than "we're thinking about it" FIVE MONTHS AGO. This is literally the second highest voted thing in uservoice. It doesn't make sense. Why spend so much time on things people don't want, don't ask for, and don't like, yet none on something that would benefit a largely marginalized community? I don't understand...

It is ridiculous that this is still in the “thinking” stage. We as the trans community have told you time and time again why your excuses make so sense. Transgender people are already targets to harassment regardless of tags. Stop putting that problem on creators and start actively moderating your platform. We need a platform to network with each other and hype each other up. It is important. It’s been two years. Do something about it.

We need this tag. It's that plain. We are the people who this tag addresses. We are the people who want to uplift each other's voices, make a stance and help us to uplift each other, to normalize our experience, to support other people going trough our life experience.

Hey twitch! Today it's been two YEARS since this was first suggested and all you've done is tell us that you haven't forgotten us and are reading our feedback. This is laughable and shameful.
You are seemingly trying to run out the clock on this, counting on the trans community being too marginalised to create much of a fuss. This hurts.
We want a trans tag. We want to be able to find eachother on your platform so that other trans people can see that we exists and don't need to hide. Thousands have voted. Over 700 have commented.
Listen to us. Don't condescend at us and say you know better what we want or need. Give us the trans tag.

add the tag! October of 2020 was almost five months ago. We're tired of waiting.

Twitch. If you are truly trying to learn from the LGBTQIA2+ community. You can simply moves to this to a status instead of leaving it completely blank. COUNTLESS of us know about the pros and cons. But our trans brothers/sisters/siblings need to have this visibility. We are going on 2 years and all I've seen out of twitch is poor excuses, ignoring us when we state something and going to a post about making art/creative its own category that was posted and prompted November 2020 to be then MOVED TO CONSIDERATION THE NEXT MONTH. Here we are T-minus 3 days. Make the right choice Twitch. You want to learn and you want to make up for your mistakes in the same way thinking using Womxn was ok to then find out quickly and apologize and correct yourselves for Women's History Month. So, we can start here and that would be a big part. And for anyone that made it this far but doesn't already know. Trans women are women.

It's 2021. We've been asking for a trans tag for years. Where is it? You are obviously aware we want it, and you obviously don't care at all.

Twitch promised updates and has gone radio silent on the Trans tag, two years and nearly 6,000 votes and this is no where closer to done than it was when first submitted.
Shame on Twitch.

I feel having a trans tag would be a huge benefit for my community and will help us connect with each other and find support. Having the choice to become more visible will improve my experience on Twitch and grow my channel.
Also tbh I worry often if I put 'trans' in my stream title that I'll be reported or banned for inappropriate words. A lot of key ***** words are censored in the chats and it's a constant reminder that they are seen as negative things. So having a trans tag will give me confidence that my community is being given a real platform to stand on.
If the conversation ever turns to 'safety' then believe me, there is safety in numbers
(EDIT: After posting this note..... the word q-u-e-e-r was censored.......... point proven)

Who's the transphobe at Twitch that's keeping this (the second highest-rated idea on all of Twitch's Uservoice) from happening after two years??

It so simple and would help out so many streamers. Can we please implement this tag ASAP and represent this large part of out community properly?

I don't understand how this has yet to go through/update. LGBTQ+ tag is not sufficient enough and there needs to be a trans tag. It makes no sense to me as to how you would "support" LGBTQ+ but not trans.

As a trans streamer, this absolutely needs to happen! An LGBTQA+ tag is inclusive, sure, but vague. Finding and connecting with trans members of this community is something that could be beneficial for absolutely everyone.

It's baffling that this is still yet to happen. Read all these comments. Having nothing to share is not good enough; be transparent and tell us why this still hasn't been implemented.

I'm not trans but my best friend is and seeing the tag bring them viewership just seems right. Do the right thing Twitch! I'd love to see this happen!
