Trans tag request
It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.
Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).
We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.
Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.
Please check out our blog post for more info: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

I think a Trans tag would be a great way to expose people to this community and a great way to find people interested watching people with similar backgrounds or identities as them. As a black female gamer, it’s inspiring to see someone of the same identity on the front page of Twitch or in a Twitch ad. I think it’s time for the same exposure for the Transexual Gaming Community. AddTheDamnTag....respectfully!

how has it taken literal years to add one tag? it would be an easy way to help build communities that are safer for trans people, and help us to find each other
and whilst you're at it, add tags for other marginalised groups too. uplift our communities.

Since y'all went in and removed the blind playthrough tag to avoid inadvertent harm, perhaps while you're in there we can add trans, black, and disabled tags? So they can find each other more easily to build communities that are safe for them?

Would love to know what's so complex about this process that it's taken you literal years to implement something with such large community support. It's not even a major feature change or process implementation. It's now 5 months since you last responded. Sort yourselves out eh?

With Trans Day of Visibility coming up, I kind of expect this to be a thing by no later than the 29th of March to accommodate international streamers. It makes no sense as to why this isn't a thing already.

Still waiting. Get better.

It's no surprise that we have to keep waiting with no information. When is comes to the trans community, we're often never given the true time and genuine concern about our visibility, inclusion, and rights for our own space. That being said, it's of course ridiculous and honestly wrong to have us continue to wait with nothing real being said or done. We're as tired as the responses we get. #TransTagNow

A Trans tag would be very helpful. I can't see it being too difficult to implement and it's a small thing you can do right now to help your Trans streamers and viewers.

Having this tag, will help alot of people who is trans to use this. It can help people to have this in their tags for their viewers to know.

Gotta love when Twitter is ahead of twitch on communicating. It insulting enough to hear this second hand, with no announcement. If this turns out to not be real I'm gonna be so ******.
"i did a lil panel where i got to speak with a ton of other female streamers on Twitch & it was amazing
Smiling face
so happy to hear Twitch confirmed they’re working on including a trans & ally tag and more!" -

We get a more useful update on this topic in a pokimane tweet than we do directly from twitch - but lets be real I'll believe it when I see it.

Why is this not a thing yet!

So, two years ago this was requested by and for people who simply want to cultivate a space they can exist in, too. Is there a reason this hasn't been enacted? It has a considerable amount of support. The inaction isn't convincingly "we're discussing it" at this point. After this long it can really feel like a tactic to deflect rather than say "No, we aren't going to do this because we already have a tag that includes trans [LGBTQ+] (or whatever other justification you may have)."
I'd really hope that you'd have something to say beyond non-committal responses asking for more patience.

We need this tag. You did nothing about your transphobic Brazilian partner Jovirone, and you do nothing to help the trans community.
