Trans tag request

It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).

We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.

Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags you feel we may have missed! We are working to invest more into this forum and aim to have faster communications in the future.

    Hi Twitch, please add the trans tag. People have been asking for years now and it's been long overdue. Give us the tag, and actually implement ways to protect and support us on this platform instead of constantly saying that you'll "do better".

    Twitch absolutely needs to add Trans as a tag, a long with a bunch of others. If you’re worried about people getting harassment because of a tag perhaps Twitch needs to do a better job at protecting their streamers because they’re what makes the platform and bring people in. I can’t believe in 2021 Twitch are excluding people this way.

    I don't understand how a platform of Twitch's size and impact doesn't have the capacity to add a simple tag (like the others that already exist) for the content creators y'all platform. From where I'm sitting after two years of being asked to add it the lack only serves to communicate that Twitch simply just doesn't care about trans people and their experience on the platform.

    Imagine how great it would be as a trans person, to be able to search for trans streamers!!! And how awesome it would be as a trans person to be able to help others find safe spaces!! Please make this a thing. And what a perfect day to do so, (3/31) International Trans Day of Visibility!! Please Twitch, be awesome and give this to the Trans community. <3
