The trans tag is essential for helping trans people find each other. We’ve been asking for a trans tag non-stop for years now. Please, Twitch, give us a trans tag.

So we're still (not) doing this, eh Twitch? Just add the tag, we've been asking for it for so long and it's just past ridiculous at this point.

It's been literally 2 years? I don't doubt you haven't forgotten, the only conclusion to draw at this point is you're actively ignoring this.

Funny how this completely mirrors a society that really really hopes that trans people will "get over this phase" and "this trans thing" will just go away if we ignore it long enough. "This thing" has existed since the beginning of humanity and simply isn't going away.

Please do the literal bare minimum and add one line of json to include this tag. It doesn't even require additional code to implement and you know it.

This is really not a hard thing to implement. I could log in and do it in 10 seconds. The community clearly wants it, so what's holding twitch back?

Everyone, please reach out to big content creators. All twitch streamers are affected by their lack of transparency, lack of willingness to communicate important information, and unwillingness to tackle the issues that trans creators face on a daily basis within their platform. Tweet, retweet, blast this on social media. We need allies, because clearly they don't listen to us trans people.

Twitch, your silence on this is in it of itself transphobic. We've been demanding this for 2 years now and it's currently the most voted on feature here, and doesn't require any additional tools to be developed. TRANS TAG NOW!

Twitch approved a feature with under 30 votes and lets this sit for like a year now at just under 10k.

I'd say make it make sense but it does make sense; it's just institutional transphobia.

Is there a reason why this hasn't been updated since October, or why no traction has been made on this topic for TWO YEARS? I don't really see what the hold-up is when it comes to giving people the tools needed to find community on your site, especially when a tagging system is already in place. It doesn't take 8 months to come up with "a better solution."

Why is this taking such a long time to get approved? Trans people deserve to be seen and heard just as much as cis people.

It only took less than 25 votes for a new feature to be added and this has almost 10k votes. Let us find our community through filters. I don’t care for another feature, just let me find more people like me.

Saying you might have a better solution means absolutely nothing if you’re not willing to be transparent about what that might be. Even just briefly discussing at a high level what this alternative might be would be better than barely responding to us with garbage like “we haven’t forgotten you”, especially considering other requests have gotten implementation with little to no reactive votes.

Asking for a trans tag is straightforward and works with your existing categorical structure. If this alternative you claim to be considering ends up being more difficult to use or to find, then it will have been a waste of our time.

Twitch, please listen to your trans users and content creators. This is something so small that you can do to make an entire community of people feel safe and seen.

Truly, why the delay? You have a community here who wants to use your platform to find each other. All it takes is a tag. It isn't hard. You have tags for specific game modes in Fortnite for goodness sake. How is this an issue?

Policies should exist to create inclusive environments, especially if you consider yourself a inclusive company.

There's nearly 10000 votes on this? May I ask what's the hold up? How come this hasn't been followed up on? If you could please give us some answers a lot of us trans folks feel like the platform needs to support us more as well. No one wants to feel left out especially from a platform this big.

I have actually met friends on the old trans tag but since that was removed,
99% of the time streaming to LGBTQIA+ I have been personally attacked to a point I am afraid to show pride and / or network with others, personal attacks such as "I hope the cancer returns and kills you" I am a cancer survivor and a transwoman.

Hey Twitch, stop dragging your feet on this already. Seriously. You've pushed through lesser things with barely double digit "votes" but won't push this into being? Enough with the delay! Get it done!

I support adding this feature to help trans streamers increase their audience reach, and to aide the community in more easily supporting the streamers. If Twitch truly values the inclusiveness of it's user community, there should be no question to the value of having this tag. More choice is NEVER bad, and increasing the visibility of all individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community is always a good thing.
