AdminTwitch (Admin, Twitch) responded
Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

You can set your own minimum number of bits per message per channel already. And people can't send messages with anonymous bits. And I believe you could always ban AnAnonymousCheerer if you didn't want them at all. (Altho a checkbox in the settings to disallow would still be better.) And Twitch always knew who was spending the bits even if the streamer didn't, so they can look into it if there's still somehow a kind of harassment happening after all that. So I'm not sure how removing the option for ALL streamers to receive them is required to increase 'safety', that adding an option for streamers to turn them off wouldn't accomplish better. Vague explanation about "safety" doesn't sound legit so far. Unless... you're planning to get rid of bits anyway. Then of course it makes sense to not add any new bits related features.

They've been slowly getting rid of Bits-related features for months. Presumably because they want to get rid of Bits entirely. But haven't said anything about it because they hate communicating what they're planning. Assuming they want to replace it with one of the 2 technically separate but ridiculously similar experiments going on right now... Both lower-value knockoffs of the already more boring & less useful YouTube SuperChat feature.
But since neither of them seem to allow Anonymous payments either, the main point of this original request still stands.

At the very least let MODS delete their own messages, or those of other mods. Currently if I mod posts something accidentally that shouldn't be seen, a streamer has to un-mod the person, delete the message, and then re-mod them. Which is kinda ridiculous.
