How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

If you need help:

Appeals or commentary on suspension decisions, support requests, suggestions disparaging others, and non-constructive feedback will be closed without comment.

  1. It may seem extreme to some people, but i'm a moderator on a girl streamer's channel and lately she's gotten a lot of harassment from just one person, that person does not stop creating accounts all the time just to continue writing uncomfortable and improper things to her.

Me and her channel's moderator team are reporting all of his accounts through Twitch's reporting system, but that won't limit the person from creating new accounts.

So, my idea is that only the streamer will have access to suspend IP addresses of multi-account stalkers.

    Thanks for reading.

  2. Automod continuously ignores words and phrases that we've allowed for the filter, and it means moderators / streamers have to continuously permit the same phrases over and over. I moderate for queer content creators, and we have to permit "kisses him" at least once a stream. It's incredibly frustrating to try to work with moderation tools that censor innocent comments, when we've explicitly allowed those phrases through the filter.

  3. Add "Do not ban moderators " or "Do not ban usernames" that are trusted. So that Shield Mode does not defeat its own purpose by banning human moderators to leave the channel vulnerable to chat abuse vandalism, which could shut down the channel. Another setback discovered in testing, is that when a moderator unbans a Shield Mode banned moderator, the moderator sword is not restored by the unban. So that moderator is unable to protect the channel from chat abuse vandals. There are workarounds, but they take precious time. AutoMod should be checked that it is not getting Shield Mode…

  4. Shield Mode is a great addition to Twitch and will definitely make keeping our streams safe easier. It would be nice to have the Shield Mode shortcut button also in the Stream Manager chat as now it only seems to be in the chat on your channel page chat.

  5. The Shared Ban list warning should apply for all incoming messages, not just the first-time chat.

Example scenario: A user chats in my stream, doesn't say anything ban-worthy, e.g. "Hello." They say something to get banned by someone who I've shared ban lists with. I want to know that they've been banned but the current implementation will not share that information.

The current implementation makes it quite easy for a bad actor to evade these warnings. Also, it's unlikely that people will open with something offensive unless they truly are trolling.

For this feature to truly be valuable, we need…

  6. Mod View - Dynamically update Message history on a User Card.

Currently a User Card can be opened for a user of interest to see their Messages / Timeouts / Bans / Mod Comments. Once open any new Messages from that user do not appear in the card. This would be useful when 'monitoring' that user.

  7. When someone is reported for whatever conduct they are reported for Twitch, staff should have a way to see all the accounts chat logs for other streams and handle accordingly. Since Mods have chat logs within streams I would expect something similar that can flag their comments in all streams when banned as their chat logs are still active even when banned and it'll be easier to compile if needed to report to said agencies. I mention this as when I have reported over hundred pedophiles on Twitch trying to groom and exploit kids, you see their comments in a…

  8. How is such a large company so utterly incompetent, it is honestly ridiculous. i posted this message and it was denied due to conflicts?

"i guess the perspective he draws at makes it hard to convey"

what in this message was at all problematic??

Am i meant to guess what the random naughty word is? Why dont you say what isn't allowed. truly insane.

also the effort to fine this forum is excessive.

  9. IN 2022.05.13 Fri(KST), Some steamers in korea banned for one day. But checking their replay, they didn't found any wrong messeges from their voices except some users didn't follow them, left the chatting and vanished. After that, the streamers reported to twitch this is not a good reporting method, we must change this strange report system. Some of users using that method. they create another IDs and take into streamers that they don't know or they don't want to see them and Left their chats like blamming another country.
Situation was not good because at that time, Director Keum, who…

  10. The current solution for automod is not customizable. It bases a lot of rules on sliders without allowing users to customize wordlists per rule. This is why people use external bots for stuff like this. But that introduces a problem of messages still going into chat.

Streamers/mods need the ability to specify rule:
    - Name
    - To who rule applies for (ability to exclude vips/subs (per tier))
    - Wordlist/regex/limiters (caps/emotes/repeating words)

If this would be too much work at least expose the ability to connect to the interface that stops message before it gets sent so people can connect their…

  11. I have been banned for having an opinion, the mod that banned me probably had a bad day and decided to ban me for having an opinion on something. I used to watch this streamer everyday until i expressed my opinion on something that the mod disagrees with and i got permanently banned. also the mods on this channel never do unban requests, nor does the streamer (its a pretty big streamer) so im stuck in this place where im banned and no one does the unban requests.

I just think mods shouldn’t have the power to permanently ban someone…

  12. As both a streamer and a mod for many channels, I would love the ability to expand the filtering of "Users in Chat" beyond just searching by name.

I'd like to example filter by Account Age (to help find bot accounts or trolls), filter by length of time following a channel, filter by subscriber tier, etc.

This would be very very useful, especially when trying to find suspicious accounts, ban evaders, bots, etc, for larger channels that have endless lists of viewers.

    Thanks!

  13. Hi so I wanted to get into streaming but the idea of getting doxxed is sketchy.
Twitch runs on AWS which is a large cloud platform. Part of that platform is a service called Amazon Comprehend. Comprehend tries to detect if data is personal info, like addresses, etc.

    https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/machine-learning/detecting-and-redacting-pii-using-amazon-comprehend/

It would be super cool if this could be integrated into the AutoMod so doxxing can't happen as easily.

  14. With Mod Tools enabled you click the purge button to clear the message from chat and from the VOD, but there is no accountability on who deleted what when going back and reviewing what message was purged by a mod. It could even look the same as how AutoMod shows the message that is held and allowed or denied by the Mod in question.

  15. Right now it is very tedious to have to only be able to add one word at a time if you're adding blocked words to your channel. I think it would be better if we could add 5 or 10 words at a time, separated by commas or or semicolons. This would make it less of a hassle for streamers to add banned words, especially if we have a long list of words we want to add.

  16. I was just in a friends stream chatting, my boyfriend was in the mutual friend's stream. I helped the friend with a puzzle and said "i bet {enter boyfriend's name} wants to kiss me after that big brain play" and auto mod had to verify my chat. I later was talking to my friend about Nazis and Hitler and auto mod was silent. There are often times where i talk about being gay, and the word gay is hit by auto mod. Starting to feel that the auto mod database has a homophobic bias to it. please look into this…

  17. Inserts a feature which allows the streamer or other moderators to add trusted members of the community to be a moderator when a channel becomes busier than usual or no moderators are actively in chat. This would allow the streamer to further concentrate on their business, whilst not having to worry about a potential moderator overload when the channel is not busy (eg 8 mods to 5 viewers)

  19. So far every single unban request I've gotten so far has been something fairly toxic (a vague insult, a racial slur, etc). I don't want to deny these requests, because doing so will notify the user and I don't really want them to know that I even looked at their request. But I also don't want them to just sit there forever, the more toxic requests there are the less I actually want to look at the thing at all, which eventually will pretty much completely defeat the point of having unban requests in the first place.

    I'd like to…

  20. Add the Russian language to AutoMod, because I am a Russian-speaking streamer and I want to add this function, because there are viewers who offend in Russian with profanity in chat and I want AutoMod to delay them in a private message and in a chat. Thank you for understanding.
