2. Mods Can't Chat

   mods should DEFINITELY not be allowed to chat

   they can read people's entire chat history which obviously feels like **** for everyone, the sword looks incredibly ugly, as it's on a very basic level a celebration of segregation, discrimination, unequal rights, unfair privileges, hate and arbitrary violence; for the most part, it's like we have the most unethical security guards in the universe (at least 50% of them are openly racists, the entire thing is based on a "master race" sort of interpretation of reality) being on stage in front of the musicians, ruining the show just by being there, and randomly throwing boiling water on the crowd based on their mood and for completely random reasons

   twitch is the most morally indefensible place on the internet just because of that: actual criminals are in a position of authority and power

   it's a complete and total disaster; at least as far as music is concerned, which is most of what i know about twitch but OH BOY DO I KNOW IT WELL

   so your choice is very clear and very simple there, guys: you accept that twitch stands for hate and discrimination and is fundamentally built to reward bullies and people with zero moral guidelines, or you change that **** to turn it into a place of love and understanding and peace and harmony instead of this ******* dystopian game of who's going to be the biggest piece of **** of them all and harass a weak and vulnerable streamer long enough for them to just handle them the keys to their entire ******* life for eternity

   it's really a sad, sad thing and you have a responsibility to fix what is a terrible, terrible mistake, and by doing that, the chance to save those people's life

   the idea that mods are saving the planet is the most ridiculously and insanely stupidly toxic concept of all time; it's not only making everyone's life miserable, it's sabotaging and hurting oh-so-deeply so many streamers life who end up trusting those people because Twitch told them to, when they OBVIOUSLY really, really shouldn't

   now if you're telling me that the occasional bot-raid or what not and the extremely rare actual need to delete a message justifies their existence, I can ear that, but that doesn't justify in any way them ruining a chat by spamming NRA commercials in a "Heil the master race" sort of vibe

   like holy ******* **** this looks so incredibly bad and twitch music has ZERO chance of developing in any meaningful way in that context and for that exact reason and they're all gonna end up jumping from a sinking boat at some point and go on youtube or X and that would also be quite sad because the twitch music community has so many bright sides, it's a wonderful thing and a wonderful place, deep down, and it should flourish and allow for artists to flourish but it's not because Chat is Unbearable and Physically Unwatchable. Streamers are paying infinite money a bunch of morons to make sure that anyone chill and reasonable who's not a mentally ill spamming maniac and doesn't believe in arbitrary violence just goes away; new people arrive, reasonable people leave, because this part is just so unbelievably dumb and ends up making everything else taste like ****

   I spent over 50K on twitch, i'm not sure what's the exact number; i feel OK about it, I love these people and they deserved it

   if i'm not the biggest financial supporter of twitch music of all time, then there can't be too many people ahead of me

   twitch music has the potential to be the greatest, biggest thing in the history of music, and the only thing able to compete with the rise of AI music

   but it's not going to achieve any of that in the current "only bad vibes" framework

   weapons suck, we don't want weapons at a concert; looks gross, sounds gross, feels gross; mass surveillance sucks; violence sucks (99% of the time that i witnessed a message being deleted it was a bad and unfair decision that made everything worse because DIALOGUE BEATS VIOLENCE), the entire thing sucks and makes no sens

   -Maybe keep it to only 1 special badge and change the ******* logo at least for the music section, please: it looks incredibly disgusting in that context

   it never was, nerver is and never will be fine on a music stream (only exception is ThreeThirty_ maybe but that's a pretty special unique case and there are thousands and thousands of douchebags that are not him)

   I'm not suggesting you should be politically engaged against monarchy and racism; you've built an entire anti-democratic and anti-universal chat model and maybe that's what twitch is and always will be, i don't know; what i'm saying is: it's making music strictly worse, it's making musicians life strictly worse, they're all in a terrible mental health state and the fact that they're immersed in the mind of the most unethical and distasteful people on the planet (which is the one and only way to get to that position, by being a disrespectful spamming egomaniac) seems most likely related, and it's costing them money and on a fundamental, structural level, it's costing Twitch money because twitch music could be at least 10 times bigger if it wasn't intrinsically toxic and immediately unbearable to most people

   nobody likes the police, certainly not at a concert, and you know who really, really don't like them and are ******* nowhere to be seen in the music community? black people; authority sounds bad, it looks bad, and feels awful, authority is how unfair laws and unethical people with a violence and empathy issue end up making everyone's like miserable in so many contexts, in real life, all around the world, in a very, very real way

   the entire idea was just bad thinking from the beginning, but you don't necessarily have to change everything, just give them a big time out and tell streamers to make all their friends VIP instead, except that one dude who really wants to read people's chat history and delete messages but is then, logically, fairly, not allowed to ruin everything by spamming on top of that ridiculousness

   Thank you for your time. I appreciate the work you're doing and there has been a few cool changes and improvements and I respect that. But, yeah, once again, as far as music is concerned, everything is a meaningless detail next to systemic spiritual misery in a very direct, concrete and factual way. Those are not my opinions. This is an objective description of reality. Help musicians. Fix chat. Be a positive voice for society. Be a force for good. You're obviously not, right now. But you could be.

   Maybe at some point we should only have AI being allowed to delete messages and read everyone's chat history. Maybe.

5. Is there any control/supervising on Twitch admins/bans?

   Cause its strange... when a viewer abusing, hateful speaking and sexual harassment on streamer> the streamer channel si blocked on the next day. For example maybe Twitch admins have hatred of Russians

   Es würde sehr helfen gegen Content Creator die Hass und Hetze vorgegangen wird und es nicht einfach ignoriert wird. Die User die hate verbreiten sind das eine Problem, aber das schlimmere Problem sind die Content Creator die die Leute anstacheln und Geld damit verdienen Hass zu verbreiten. Die Stimmung wird immer schlechter und es macht immer weniger Freude auf dieser Plattform zu bleiben, durch den ganzen Hass.

7. How to hold Moderators accountable?

   I am a new user and read the rules for chatting on the Main Twitch Channel. I was watching HCS today and did not break any of the rules. The moderators timed me out and then for 30 minutes for expressing that they timed me out for no reason. This is unacceptable. You must allow abusive moderators to be held accountable. We must be able to submit reports or defenses for abusive moderators.

10. Why/How are user comments like "*****" and "Filthy *****" not a violation of TOS ?

    I noticed my report user flagging is being consistently turned down lately.
    But when a user in chat calls the streamer '**' and 'filthy **' in German I fail to understand why that that doesn't constitute a violation of TOS.

    For reference I'm commenting on this report to Twitch (but also several before in the last months) :

    You have submitted a safety report that is covered under the Digital Services Act (DSA) of the EU. We have reviewed the content against our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and/or local law, and determined that no violation occurred."

    I don't understand why my reports are being denied consistently lately.. can anyone explain to me the logic behind this reasoning.
    I don't believe this Twitch moderation report is being considered rationally.

    *Edit : apparently the word filter removes the words, but it is the equivalent of a woman who sells her physical carnal services for money..

12. Moderate the streams listed at the top of the twitch home page

    I decided to load up twitch to find something/someone to watch. Upon loading the Twitch.tv homepage I'm blasted with a stream at the top where you essentially get the stream play without loading into that person specifically. Anyway the point is that this specific person is just continuously non stop swearing with constant F*, C* and all sorts before going on to rip into disabled people. Luckily I didn't have it loaded on the television with any kids in the room. I don't blame the streamer for their content more so twitch for putting this sort of content at the top of the home page for all to see and hear.

    I guess my suggestion would be to censor all videos at the top unless you express your choice to tune in and watch that person/persons at the top of the page.

    we need mod protection from the streamer before twitch takes action. false reporting to twitch is a big issue and viewers and bots alike dont like when a mod does something so they report them direct to twitch.... that should be screened by the streamer before twitch and make it up to the streamer to forward the report to twitch

14. Create a "3 Strikes, You're Out" Permanent Ban System for All Twitch Users

    The premise is simple: If someone is getting banned on the Twitch platform 5, 6, even 7 times within the span of 1 year for violating the Twitch Terms of Service, regardless of their partner or non-partner status, that user is a liability to the safety and integrity of the Twitch platform, brand, and image.

    Under a new "3 strikes, you're out" permanent ban system, all users, regardless of partner or non-partner status, are equally given up to three (3) account bans within a span of three (3) years, at which time that user will receive a permanent ban from the Twitch platform for violating the Twitch Terms of Service. This will be applied equally and equitably to all users on the platform, creator and non-creator, and regardless of partner or non-partner status to incentivize all users to follow the Twitch Terms of Service at all times.

    Ban counts may be removed from a user's account after the length of time has exceeded the time length mentioned in the policy, successfully appealed as determined by Twitch and the user, or if determined to be a ban made in error.

    This policy does not circumvent more serious ban reasons that require immediate and permanent removal of a user from the platform as determined by Twitch and their Terms of Service.

    It is imperative that Twitch properly showcase that Terms of Service and actions thereof are applied equally and equitably to all users of the platform and that Twitch prides itself on maintaining and protecting its image, brand, platform, and users.

    i wish that "user" in Twitch Community Guideline includes broadcasters [including Twitch Ambassadors], moderators and their "communities", and that contracts signed to abide Twitch Community Guidelines are legal binding.

    a victim who is outnumbered by pre-credible bullies is a victim whether those bullies believe otherwise or not.

    how is Twitch a safe platform for everyone, when a victim turns to people in positions to help for help and those people laugh them off out of hand?

    why are you so focused on protecting a broadcaster, their moderators and their "communities" from a viewer and not focused on protecting a viewer [particularly a mistakenly accused viewer] from broadcasters, moderators and their "communities"?

    credibility should not be pre-dispensed based on someone's mistaken self-image, "Well, I'M not a bully, and i'm just like them behave the same as them so they're not bullies!" nor based on who's outnumbered.

    for instance, @skinnedteen likely told @MoeWanders a story about me, last night; there is no truth in this story, though pre-dispensed credibility in favour of @skinnedteen inspires people to believe that her story about me is true.

    @aicute, also, and her moderator extraordinaire bullied me, conveniently deleted and left out all evidence of their bullying of me when they told a story about me to @Littlesiha .

    people Banning me and Pre-Banning me because of a story told to them or because they refuse to realise that THEY're the villain(s) and i am not, and the story growing and more people Banning and Pre-Banning me as it spreads, is Coordinated Harassment.

    ... and i am only guessing as to why @MoeWanders Banned me from @TeawithMandy 's yesterday and why @Littlesiha Banned me because NO ONE WILL COMMUNICATE WITH ME [because (despite my Right to know what i'm accused of, my Right to confront my accusor(s), and my Right to defend myself against accusation) they're convinced that they need no more reason to Ban me than they need to Block me, so they don't have to tell me why] and Twitch Support will not provide mediation services.

    when, objectively, it is everyone else who's the problem, who can someone like me turn to for help?

17. introduce a general guideline for moderators

    Hello everyone,

    More than an idea, it is an awareness that I have developed over time thanks to experience.
    Very often those who begin to undertake the path of Moderation are driven by the desire to come into greater contact with their favorite streamer, with their idol, but the importance of this task is underestimated.

    Being a moderator means taking on the moral and practical responsibility for a person's work, their dreams, their goals, their efforts and their future.
    I consider these human aspects fundamental both on the internet and in life and as such every aspiring moderator should have a total vision of what he is about to start doing.

    The importance of this concept is also reflected in life, in our future and that of our future generations (I have a 6 year old daughter, it is a topic that is particularly close to my heart) and looking around I believe that the time to approach this virtual reality with more seriousness and awareness because it is now clear to everyone that the internet has a fundamental role in our lives and as such it should be considered as a reality to be protected in the best possible way.

    During my experience I wrote a guideline which currently contains 90 points of reflection (obviously must be compressed, it is mainly a draft) which give a fairly complete general vision of what an aspiring moderator will find themself facing and advice on how to deal with every situation, to grow both on a personal level and towards society, because that's what we're talking about!

    I'll share some points from the guide:

    3) Keep a positive tone:
    Always make sure your interactions with viewers are positive and respectful. Avoid aggressive responses and try to resolve problems calmly.

    7) Be impartial:
    Apply the rules impartially to all spectators. Don't make exceptions based on personal preferences or relationships.

    11) Keep up with updates:
    Stay informed about Twitch updates and new features or moderation tools that may be introduced.

    24) Track chat trends:
    Observe chat trends over time to better understand community dynamics. This can help you anticipate problematic situations and adjust moderation accordingly.

    29) Recognize and encourage positive behavior:
    Don't just focus on negative actions; Also recognize and encourage positive behavior in the chat. This can help to create a friendlier environment.

    50) Promote diversity and inclusion:
    Support a streaming environment that promotes diversity and inclusion. Take action against discriminatory behavior and work to create a welcoming space for all.

    58) Create a learning environment:
    Foster an environment where viewers can learn the rules and expectations of the channel. Answer questions and politely explain policies when necessary.

    65) Be thoughtful about your online presence:
    Remember that, as a moderator, your online presence may be observed. Maintain professional behavior outside of the channel and avoid personal conflicts that could affect your ability to moderate and the channels you moderate.

    75) Know the limits of your responsibilities:
    Understand the limits of your responsibilities as a moderator. If there are more complex or sensitive issues, involve the streamer or other appropriate resources.

    86) Be aware of local idioms and expressions:
    If the channel is frequented by an international community, be aware of cultural differences in idioms and expressions to avoid misunderstandings.

    I hope that these examples are enough to make people understand the importance and seriousness of the above because anyone can be a Mod, even the little ones, and I think it is ethically correct to give all a guideline with concrete advice and this does not exist yet. ( I have looked everywhere).

18. История сообщений при запросе на разблокировку на канале

    Некоторые пользователи получают несколько банов на каналах и, при заполнении формы на разблокировку пишут текст, который невожможно пересмотреть в случае, если пользователю отказали в разблокировке, или же её утвердили. Было бы полезно для модераторов понимать историю данных запросов и тексты. Пример очень простой: запрос на разблокировку "Все все пидоры" - модератор отклоняет. Пользователь пишет письмо о том, что он попросил нормально, а злой модератор отклонил потому. что %выдуманнаяпричинаимя%. В данном случае возникает спорная ситуация, которую невозможно разрешить. Было бы очень хорошо, если бы данная история появилась. Спасибо.

19. "Reimagining Transparency: A Call for a Unified, Rule-Based Banning System in Twitch

    Recently, I found myself barred from a channel following a comment I made about a competing Streamer. Although my remark had a slightly negative tone, I promptly followed up with an apology.
    Despite this, the exact reason for my ban remains a mystery, leading me to believe that the process of banning may be more subjective than desired.
    Consequently, I am advocating for a more structured and transparent banning system. In the current scenario, the criteria for banning vary significantly from one Streamer to the next, causing confusion among viewers.
    What if we could introduce a table or matrix system, where each Streamer clearly defines the rules and related ban-able offenses? This way, when a viewer is banned, they are instantly provided with a CONCRETE reason. This proposal ensures not only a transparent system but also paves the way for more informed interactions between Streamers and their audience.

    Admin audit: removed direct mention of another streamer

Streamers are starting to poll their audience on the subject; and not the least since this brews an average of 5000 viewers per stream. The reasons that often come up are: the shares taken by Twitch on each sub; low quality of dialogue between streamers and Twitch France; the quality of moderation responsible for sanctioning streamers, clearly oriented and less and less objective.

Des rumeurs fusent de toute part sur les serveurs Discord sur d'éventuelles migrations de chaînes vers d'autres plateformes. Des streamers commencent à sonder leur public sur le sujet; et pas des moindres puisque ceci brassent une moyenne de 5000 viewers par streams. Les raisons qui reviennent souvent sont: les parts prélevées par Twitch sur chaque sub; une faible qualité de dialogue entre les streamers et Twitch France; la qualité de modération chargée de sanctionner les streamers, clairement orientée et de moins en moins objective.
