I’ve just experienced this exact issue.

I had a 138-day watch streak and missed a live stream, so I watched the VOD within the 24-hour window (more than 5 minutes, on a single device).

At the time, the Watch Streak indicator did not show that I was at risk of losing my streak, so I believed it had been successfully maintained.

However, my streak was still lost the next day.

Twitch Support confirmed that VOD viewing should count toward maintaining a streak, so this appears to be a tracking issue or an indicator that isn't reflecting the correct status.

Losing a long streak like this due to unclear feedback or inconsistent tracking is extremely frustrating.

i’m back once again because of another lost streak of over 250. You need to fix the system or completely take it off. I am tired of you and this horrible company.

This is absolutely a bug. In my Twitch support case, they said "if a few users report the same issue or bug we might go back and restore it." Hello! 68 so far and I'm sure many more have had the same bug happen but either don't know how or are to disgruntled to report it.

As many others it seems I lost a 120+ streak on a channel I moderate so I'm there for every stream and was actively chatting and moderating for 4+hours. As it was their last stream for the week before 2 days off there was no chance to save it in the 24 hrs and even tho I had the channel set for ALL Notifications there was no notification from Twitch that this stream was at risk. Sure they notify me when my 6 stream streak on some other channel is at risk tho.
As usual Support provided no support and just that I should complain here (and they can ignore it)

I have had this happen on @Crow_Alternative between thursday 2nd and sunday 5th of april 2026.
I had filed a report with Twitch (Case reference number: #10085195) where they replied that I should have missed a stream, where this was not the case as I had been active during every stream the past months, as shown in the vods and chat replays. Still they maintained I wasn't there and they don't reinstate the lost streak?

Happened to me on my favorite channel somewhere between March 10 and 12. 219 streak just turned into 1 on the next stream. Have proof of presence & chatting in VODs.

Anyone else encountered the problem during that period?

I mod for someone and am in every stream, yet I somehow don't have a watch streak. Just another FOMO mechanic playing on possible addiction issues that hasn't been deployed correctly since beta.

If you watched all streams, but streamer was not streaming today and you go to https://www.twitch.tv/save-streak/<streamer> - it resets your count to 0 as you missed stream

Sadge Same lost my Longest Streak and Told to Voice my Woes here and the way they worded it makes me suspect they won't do anything about it :( .

Watch streaks should just be removed; they simply do not work correctly. It's designed to take advantage of FOMO and force us to attend streams regardless of what else you might have going on in life BUT EVEN IF YOU DO it doesn't always take. Makes me wanna not even bother. Heck I had a "recover my streak" notification that took me to a clip IN WHICH I WAS SPEAKING IN CHAT.

Or give the Mods the options to check in those Users manually, that would be a little way if the actual automatic system doesn´t want to trigger/count why ever it won´t work..

I´m about to possibly lose my 44/45 stream streak tonight on a good streamer and had earlier this year already lost 2 streaks on smaller number, just bc twitch /system doens´t want to trigger somehow..
I guess something is colliding w the viewbot/Lurker situation, which is just actually on work/progress.

This keeps on happening. My streak of 184, possibly advancing to 185 was reset to 1, and I suspect the reason is that this time I started watching the stream on the Android app. Early on it showed the "streak is 184, updating" thingy it always shows when figuring out whatever it wants to figure out, so I didn't pay much attention. About an hour and a half later on I moved to my desktop on Firefox and opened the stream there, with it still also running on my Android. I immediately checked the stream streak on desktop and it now showed as a streak of 1. On the Android app it also showed as 1, with a little link I could tap to be informed that I'd missed a stream.

I had not and have not missed a stream, I actually went back to the VOD of the previous stream and found myself in the chat logs chatting away. I then verified that the previous 5 streams were ones I had been present for.

Basically, I'd advise everyone against using the mobile app, just in case.

This happened to me - I reached out to Twitch Support, and they let me know that it was related to "experiments with a small percentage of our users" periodically run by Twitch against some features, and encouraged me to document the issue here.

Definitely agree that it's terribly disheartening to see a hundreds-strong streak glitch out like this. I'm holding out hope that support might recover mine since they responded once, but it hasn't happened yet. I've been trying to limit my twitch use in the meantime in the hopes of adding less confounding data to my account.

I just lost my 401 watch streak and I'm devastated! I didn't miss any and was active in chat in every one of them. I tried to contact the support but no luck. I don't know if someone here can help me.

Same issue. Seems if you are on a streak number you are meant to share, if you don't share it, it has a chance to reset. i was at 200 and I don't recall sharing it so I lost my whole streak even though I was in the stream chatting for several hours. Seems very dumb it resets if you don't share it.

Its like not sharing your resub and losing your sub streak. Very dumb decision.

Same here. Had a watch streak of 55 I lost when I missed an unscheduled Sunday stream, and then worked hard to get back to a streak of 138, which I lost this morning despite being in the entire stream for about 7 hours yesterday. Very disappointing response from Twitch. It's happened to multiple people in the same stream, but none of them have gone to the extra trouble of reporting it, which in hindsight would have saved me wasting my time in doing that. I would say the only difference between yesterday and the other 137 streams I watched, is that for some reason I was wide awake and at my PC at 03:00 when the stream started, and watched directly there, instead of opening stream on my tablet first before getting out of bed and continuing watching the stream on PC.

Happened to me twice in a row now when I reach 50 watched stream streak with my favourite streamer. Like others have stated, please fix or remove this feature, thank you.
