watch streak resets
i have recently experienced on a couple streamers i follow that my watch stream streaks automatically resets without knowledge of whats going on and why it reset. it is very frustrating having to have your count reset when you continue watching these streamers on a daily basis. there should be a fix to make the watch streaks not reset.

watch streak that was about to hit 30 turn to 1, literally, right before the stream began it showed 29, stream started, shows 1. infuriating.

I have the same problem - I had a whopping 138 stream streak. Yet, despite watching the streamer on the day and the day before, it got reset back 1. Why?
Here's a question - Is it possible for channel MODs to reset your stream streak?

Same thing happened to me. Was at nearly 90 on a channel, went to the streamer when they first started and saw my same number. Since I was at work, went away for an hour with the stream still up. I come back and for whatever reason I got reset. Stream was still up, streamer confirmed they didn't have a disconnect. A bit disheartening and makes the stream another meaningless thing on the platform. I understand things break, but when you have no choice in fixing it then it just sucks.

I have attended every stream of this one streamer, but my streak is constantly reset. I haven't missed one stream, but I have no streak to show for it. Why does it keep resetting when I'm there every stream?

I made a thread similar to this regarding the Twitch Watch Streaks in the Feedback form. This is what I typed and hopefully the word gets out there. A similar issue happened to me with the streaks and this is what I put:
For example: Almost a month ago back in February 2024, there was one streamer I regularly watch (who I will keep anonymous) had some internet issues on their stream and it caused a lot of people to lose their big stream streaks, including me, from a combination between the internet problems and Twitch combined. I would've had a 100-day watch stream streak on March 8th, but because of that, my streak was reset. I originally had an 88-day watch stream streak the day the incident occurred, but because of that incident, I lost it along with many other viewers who had 70-plus to 80-plus streaks too. I feel that that isn't fair to a lot of people who are regular viewers to have that happen to, not just one channel in particular, but multiple across the entirety of Twitch as a whole that I have experienced and seen. Whether that's something as minor as an internet issue with a streamer, which shouldn't be their fault in any way or the one to blame, or Twitch glitching out and having issues to making viewers lose their watch streaks.
Here are my ideas/suggestions to improve this feature since it's still in the "Experiment Phase":
We, as the viewers of different channels, whether we're streamers or not, should be given the option to skip a stream or something similar implemented that won't affect the streak. For example: if you miss one stream, then it doesn't count towards the streak, BUT if you miss a second one, then it resets.
If a streamer has internet issues or another issue comes up either on their end or on Twitch's end, whether you were present or not to that stream when the incident occurred, then there should be an option or an exception that doesn't count towards any viewer's watch streak and resets it.
We should be given the option to be able to "Salvage" a watch streak even if we were to lose it, whatever the case was that made us lose it. Similar to like a "Get out of Jail for Free" card in Monopoly. This could be an idea/suggestion that if a viewer wants to get their watch streak back instead of resetting and having to start over like for those of us who had humongous watch streaks in the problem I mentioned above and my experience, then there's a way to do that. Again this can depend on each viewer per channel if they want to do that option.

I too keep losing streaks. One is for one I mod for that I am there every single time for the entire duration of stream. Streak went from 28 to 2. Very frustrating.
And on top of this, at 26 streak someone else had a 30 streak. Very confusing because, again, I've been there for every stream for the past year and half
