A doubt on merging two games
Hi,
recently a super-admin had to merge two games wich actually was the same game, which just changed name and modality meantime.
In the fact I'm talking about Pagan Online (Action-RPG MMO) which became Pagan Absent Gods (Action-RPG Single Player).
While before they were registered as two different games, with two different pages, now they got merged as single page on Pagan Online's page (renaming the game), marking Pagan Absent Gods' old page as dupicate.
The consequences of the merging, anyway, are doubtful, because:
In IGDB website: if you search both for Pagan Online or for Pagan: Absent Gods, you always find Pagan: Absent Gods only, which anyway brings you to the deprecated (marked dupilicated) page: pagan-absent-gods .
So there's actually no way to reach pagan-online page from the search tool, containing the right info about the game.In Twitch website: now the Pagan: Absent Gods category disappeared.
And so did the game boxart from my "recently broadcast categories" list (I streamed it as Pagan: Absent Gods on monday), and also I had to set Pagan Online on my past broadcast vod.
So this also means if you play Pagan: Absent Gods on Twitch, now you'll have to set Pagan Online category... which, in my opinion, at the moment is wrong to be done, and not intuitive nor for streamer, nor for viewers.
So, in my opinon, the game and category to be deprecated and/or mark dupicated, should be the old one (Pagan Online, in this case), because new streams should have the new game's name as category, and because this wouldn't create issues while searching the game on IGDB with the new name setted.

I already discussed this issue on Discord, in bug section.
