Unlock each emote as the level is beaten rather than the highest emote from the train.
Right now if you complete a level 100 Hype Train you will only get KappaInfinite instead of getting BleedPurpleHD, HeyHeyGuys, and PogChomp as well. This leads viewers to feel like they are ripped off because this generally isn't how game progression works.
When we beat a level we expect a reward from that level to be unlocked. We do not expect that reward to be overwritten by a higher level forcing us to have to do it again to unlock the lower tier reward. This is a normal tenet of game design and should apply to Hype Train rewards as well.

This makes me markedly less interested in being involved in any large hype train push in the future, please fix this

We spent a hilarious amount of money getting to Level 100, and we found out that we didn’t get the rewards we expected to get. If we had known that Hype Train rewards don’t stack, I can say with certainty that we would have either spent orders of magnitude less on the train or waited for this oversight to be fixed before spending anything at all.

I don't see the harm in giving hype trainer's the emotes from all the levels they beat. I mean, they are emotes and not some monetary prize. These emotes literally are for bragging rights and nothing more, so why deny people?

To use an example from another website, when a Kickstarter has unlocking reward tiers for above and beyond funding, the previous tiers of rewards aren't locked again when they hit a new funding goal; the backers get ALL the tier rewards that are unlocked along the way. So why would the emotes a community earns be re-locked just because they reached a higher tier of emote? It makes more sense from a gamification standpoint for ALL the rewards that are surpassed to be unlocked. It de-hypes the hype train if you have to pull the breaks just so you stop at a particular reward, and it de-incentivizes people from contributing to the hype train if there's a chance it will surpass the level with the emote they want (which, given a community like the Goblins, has a high potential of surpassing levels).

Not getting rewards from the lower levels of the hype train once you've beaten them disincentivizes people from contributing to a train if they want one of the lower level emotes.

Agreed, It is a strange way for the system to work. I have been on the platform as a viewer for at least six years and I haven't ever heard about this system before. Judging by the people in chat, and that it took a week to learn about this, it seems people don't know this exists and at a minimum don't understand how it works very well either. I am currently unable to donate personally but will be able to do so in the near future.
As things stand I don't know if I feel comfortable donating because this system is confusing and pretty punishing if you get it wrong. If a hype train with the emote you want comes along and you donate, do you get the highest emote on the train or at the time you donate? Either has problems, if you get the highest emote on the train but you cared about the lower level emotes you feel cheated but if it is the time you donate it incentivizes people to wait to donate which increases the chance that the train will stop prematurely.
Personally, I really like PogChomp and BleedPurpleHD but don't care for KappaInfinite. If I had donated and received KappaInfinite but not the emotes I actually like, I would be pretty upset. For me, the prestige of the KappaInfinite would not really make up for this. Any time I would use it, the memory would be tied to the strong disappointment I felt and this bundled with my dislike for the aesthetic of KappaInfinite would make me not want to be involved in hype trains in the future.
In order to demonstrate my point I'll share what was happening prior to this post's creation. When this was brought to the attention of PirateSoftware by a chatter, many people in chat were considering boycotting hype trains. Fortunately, Thor is level headed and understanding so this post was made instead. Many other people would start boycotting but you were fortunate this time around. This either needs to be made to align with viewer expectations or publicly stated as the status quo and further explained.
As an aside, consider having these save the formatting we put in. I submitted this with indents of 5 spaces but then that information is deleted. Pressing tab, unlike in many editors, doesn't give an indent either. I understand that making some precautions like this are used to stop unnecessary spam or to stop blank messages or horribly formatted ones but it makes comments much harder to read especially for any dyslexics. Perhaps there is a skill issue here with a shortcut I am unaware of, if so, I'm sorry for my mistake. -

I completely agree I mean who would want to only receive 1 emote from it the fact of the matter is that we put our own real money into the hype train to fuel it and it's only fair that as a result we get every reward from Said hype train

I think we spent enough money to receive a little more than just one emote. Considering we spend MORE money, shouldn't we also receive MORE value?

Hype train emotes should be progressively unlocked, why? User engagment. For example someone misses one special hype train, this simply penalizes users.

I do not donate often. There are only a few streamers I have given coin, but I am in the majority. Please fix the issue of not receiving all of the rewards. This is a pretty big growing point for Twitch to define how they treat those who provide to hype trains.

It takes a monumental amount of money to get emotes such as infinite Kappa and didibreakit. Having people only get the top emote would be asking them to do 2 monumental hype trains. This is not likely to happen more than once a year to channels. Having hype trains be cumulative however would incentivise people to really push for those last few levels. For the sake of the viewers make it cumulative.
Also give the emotes to people who got gifted subs during the train. I unfortunately missed the emotes this time due to being broke and all I had to give was my prime sub. Unfortunately I was gifted a sub before I had the chance to use my prime.

In my opinion, it seems unorthodox to implement a tiered reward system that runs on a Price Is Right format, wherein participants do not get rewards for going over a tier, just for landing exactly on one. Maybe it's my familiarity with gaming a work, but progressive awards are usually unlocked as you earn them. You wouldn't tell someone who finishes a marathon that they still haven't run a half marathon, would you? Just one perspective. Thanks for your time.

Most other platorms for with a tier system implement this as this streamer described. if you donate/reach goal X you get all previous tier rewards and the one you just unlocked.
You could see this another way too: you only get the emotes for the selected hypetrains, meaning you would only get the one emote at lever 100 and nothing if it hits 101. How demoralized would you feel that that one extra donation some one game made everyone miss the prize at the end.
It also feels very strange that you advertize unlocking ceratain emotes while you are in the hypetrain that you don't get since the small print says we only get the latest beaten level.

I agree that the rewards should be awarded progressively and cumulative! I was quite upset some of the lower tiers were unlocked and even opened a ticket.

As someone with very few funds, these hype train events such as done by PirateSoftware are my only chance to take part in and receive rewards from hype trains, essentially meaning that i am locked out of every lower tier reward for not being able to participate in every level of hype train
