Unlock each emote as the level is beaten rather than the highest emote from the train.
Right now if you complete a level 100 Hype Train you will only get KappaInfinite instead of getting BleedPurpleHD, HeyHeyGuys, and PogChomp as well. This leads viewers to feel like they are ripped off because this generally isn't how game progression works.
When we beat a level we expect a reward from that level to be unlocked. We do not expect that reward to be overwritten by a higher level forcing us to have to do it again to unlock the lower tier reward. This is a normal tenet of game design and should apply to Hype Train rewards as well.

I never usually sub or throw bits ever and this is my first time supporting a streamer. As my first experience in supporting a streamer I believe in and not receiving all the emotes when I was a part of such a historic moment gives such a bright moment a dark spot in my opinion. Furthermore, it disincentivizes people like me from wanting to spend more or engage in future Hype Trains on the platform.

It makes more sense to get all of the progressive achievements related to the same goal

Personally this feels awful. I contributed to the hype train and only got 3 of the 5 emotes for the PirateSoftware hype train event where we reached lvl 106(?). I don't feel incentived to participate in future events like this additional emotes because I have no idea when the hype train will end or if I will even unlock the other emotes. If I've reached level 100 how could I have gotten there without first reaching the 99 levels below it? To not get credit that effort, doesn't make logical sense and doesn't promote engagement.

We shouldn't be punished for reaching higher level than just stopping on the exact level of Hype Train to get one emote. It should be reworked or designed in a bit different way. This would encourage viewer to push Hype Train higher to get new emotes instead of stopping on certain level only because I want one exact emote from that.

Lets the community who worked and reached a shared goal feel rewarded. This will encourage viewers and make future hype trains feel more special together with the streamer. Much love <3

I took part in PirateSoftware's level 100 hype train, and only now have the 100 emote, and not the others. I think I should have received them, for participating in a hype train this high. After all, it was a level 10 hype train, and a 25 hype train, and others during it's lifetime too.
I'm assuming this was perhaps an oversight and technical limitation, where the higher levels were added recently, and it's likely been common that channels would gradually get higher and higher trains.

The documentation isn't even consistent with how emotes were distributed. https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/hype-train-guide?language=en_US indicates BleedingHeartHD as the reward for Level 50-100 instead of the KappaInfinite. So as I am currently missing BleedingHeartHD emote from a 100+ stream means that I was not properly rewarded.

To add to this, the opinion on which emote is someone's favorite is subjective, so some viewers may join a hype train for one of the mid tier emotes.
This means that if viewers join in on a hype train to unlock a specific emote, and the hype train pushes past the point of being able to unlock the emote many viewers wanted, those viewers will actually feel punished, rather than rewarded, for hitting too high of a level on the train.
This unintended feeling of punishment is exactly why all emotes at and below the hype train level should unlock for each train. I understand the desire to create incentive for people to join in on multiple hype trains, but this is not the proper way to accomplish that.

As someone who is currently studding for a bachelor in game technology and simulation, I whole heartily agree with that it's counterintuitive that as the hype train levels up you lose the chance of getting the previous level rewards as you as a user would expect to get rewards for each of the main goals.

Agreed, was part of the 106 hype train and it appears confusing how the system works and why not all the emotes are unlocked from the hype train

I agree. Let's take subscriptions for instance. If I get a tier 3 sub, I automatically get tier 2 and 1 benefits without having to pay extra for tier 2 and 1.
So I feel like it is fair that if you part took at the end of the hype train but could only join at level 100, you should get the level 100 rewards and all rewards below it.

Hype Trains can be highly emotional moments for streamers - especially the first time a level is reached. In the weeks after a train, returning viewers sharing the emotes they earned is a warm reminder of a great moment on the stream.
Losing access to these emotes is a great disappointment and hampers the 'I was there' sensation shared between viewer and streamer.I strongly agree with the point made in this post. Hype train emotes could even be argued as paid for assets so should not expire.

Having a system where only the highest tier reward doesn't make sense in the first place. This would mean that if I want one of the early rewards, I'd have to convince everyone in the hypetrain to STOP our support of the streamer somehow, when in my eyes the view of a hypetrain is to reward maximum hype at supporting the streamer.

As one of the people who contributed to this community because we love what this streamer does, we feel dissapointed in the platform to not back and support this incredible force of good that has been lacking on this platform for a very long time.

As stated, this feels really bad to have only the highest emote being unlocked, especially when so many of us were part of this global event.
This is quite litterally an historical moment for Twitch itself, the first of many others to come in the future. Please have a consideration of the hype train rewards are being distributed.
Thank you again for your time and attention.

As someone that participated in the lvl 106 Hype train, i was confused as to why i only got 3/5 of the Emotes (PogChomp, KappaInfinite, DidIBreakIt). @PirateSoftware then gave us some clearance and told us that we only get the maxed lvl one. This contradicts what most games do (for instance in a game when u reach lvl 100 u will still have lvl 50 stuff). Would very much appreciate if we could get all of the Emotes under the goal that we hit.

Receiving just one Emote from this level of Hypetrain, where a lot of people collaborated to create a monumentally insanely cool moment feel bad, because the community works together to reach a milestone.
It would feel better if you could accumulate hypetrain emotes within one single hypetrain, should it get high enough -

Hello Madam, Sir, having received 4 out of 5 rewards, i didn't know i missed one until Thor (PirateSoftware) mentionned it on stream. Maybe saying how many emote people have received could be added in the notifications tab. this would allow people to know that the rewards have been given and how many they are to receive.

Twitch says in its UI that every 5 levels you unlock new emotes, so I think only getting the emotes from the last level reached is not how it should work.

Feeling special when reaching some big achievement as a community.
Each step of the challenge was a victory.
Each step was possible because we were together working on it.
Each step with its own reward, to show of and reconize eachothehr as part of that win.Now , missing the lower tiers feel salty.
And even wrong, as I can see people claiming the lower ones "gragging about them" and I .. can't do the same as them .. even as a world record participant...
