Unlock each emote as the level is beaten rather than the highest emote from the train.
Right now if you complete a level 100 Hype Train you will only get KappaInfinite instead of getting BleedPurpleHD, HeyHeyGuys, and PogChomp as well. This leads viewers to feel like they are ripped off because this generally isn't how game progression works.
When we beat a level we expect a reward from that level to be unlocked. We do not expect that reward to be overwritten by a higher level forcing us to have to do it again to unlock the lower tier reward. This is a normal tenet of game design and should apply to Hype Train rewards as well.

Tier 3 subs get all the rewards/emotes from previous tiers of subs (T1 & T2). So it baffles me as to why it would be different for hypetrains, where they only get the highest emote,

If you unlock a higher level then all rewards from previous levels should be unlocked as well. Emotes are earned in steps during a hype train, one building on top of another. They are not unlocked by opening one door and ignoring the other doors if that makes sense.

as someone who participated in this hype train, subscribing early on in the train, I did not receive the emotes.
after putting in a ticket, I was then granted 2 of the 4, and then the new didibreakit emote.
from what I understand, it should have been 5 total.
BleedPurpleHD
HeyHeyGuys
PogChomp
KappaInfinite
DidIBreakItand I only received the last 3 of these.
This was demoralizing as a viewer and was not what we expected.
this should be changed.

During a community event, a lot of people are giving a fair amount of money for these community members to experience these events and have the rewards to show for it. unforunately, bugs like these can be really unhelpful to building a properly united community

It feels very weird that can only get some of the emotes. Seems to add also complexity to this system that bugged now out and caused problems for Twitch

Tiered rewards can be tricky, but I feel like there needs to be something given at each tier as you pass it. If a tier 50 gets you the same "amount" of rewards as a tier 100, it doesn't feel great. Instead, it should be cumulative so it feels like it is a progressive victory.

It feels very bad to not have access to the lower tier emotes. In many games, Halo MCC for example, completing a game on the highest difficulty also unlocks the achievements for the lower difficulties. Since the community has achieved those milestones, it feels like we are having emotes removed since we met the requirements to unlock them by getting to the higher level.

I feel bitter about not getting every emote. I feel discouraged from participating in another train as it may get to a level where I do not get any reward.

If it's not a cumulative reward, than what is the incentive of doing it at all? Requiring someone to participate in multiple hype trains like that feels like a lootbox mechanism and not a reward.

When unlocking achievements based on difficulty, nothing feels worse than beating the hardest difficulty and then having to go back and re-play the other difficulties to unlock the other achievements, even if I enjoy the game enough to want to unlock those achievements. I'm not someone privileged with that time. In the case of Hype Train emotes, I'm not privileged to have that much money. I 100% agree with this idea.

This is a factual statement on many levels. It is IMMENSELY difficult to get viewers to stop at specific levels when they're "hyped". When viewers believe in the streamer and feel motivated, the energy doesn't stop, so trying to achieve specific levels is almost impossible, along with what Thor said about how that's not how games progress. You don't beat the final boss without going through the lesser bosses.

Being part of the lvl 106 hype train it kind of feels like a rip off not to get all of the hype train emotes, and only get the kappaInfinite one. It's anti-logical to how achievements work in ALL of the games I play.

100% agree, you give us goals to reach a certain treshold or goal, we've beaten multiple during the Hype Train of PirateSoftware and only received 1 of these emotes you set specific goals for. It feels like you just stole rewards we all came together for.

The fact that not all 5 of the emotes were unlocked, felt very unintuitive. There is a perception that the emotes get unlocked as the train progresses. The fact is does not work like that feels a bit disappointing.

While I didn't participate in this train in particular. I was there for the whole stream. I don't like the system. Please give everyone all emotes for each step they participated in.

I can imagine a stream community that wants a particular emote doing a hype train but not getting the emote that they want if they accidentally overshoot. Seems like sort of a perverse incentive.

Yeah, it doesn't feel like regular hype train emotes because there are set milestones and it feels like it should give you every emote for a beaten milestone. Regular hype emotes don't have milestones and it made sense you'd get random one. Beating a milestone and getting efforts nullified... not great.

I was part of the hype train, but sadly wasnt able to contribute to the goal. I hope other people get the chance of getting the emotes have missed, without having to actually break the record which is much harder than getting to lvl 100

I mean it just makes sense, if we hit a milestone we should get the reward for the milestone, if we did better and managed to reach another milestone it makes no sense to just say "oh, you know, you did beat the previous milestone, BUUUUT you are on another milestone right now so... Yeah"

I think this is accurate, as both a game dev and a gamer, it makes no sense to only get the emote for the level you end on. In the way Hype Trains are done, player should receive the emote for every level they reach that have one, just like how level based achievements in games are unlocked. There is no way for the individual viewer can control the level of a Hype Train so there's no way to stop a Hype Train to a point to get the emote they have yet gotten. It would encourage users to participate in hype trains less if they can't get an emote just because the train just so happens to go past where the individual user would get a new emote.
