Allow alt-text for images in channel panels to allow for accessibility for screen readers
Using images in channel panels allows streamers a higher level of design control, but sacrifices readability for visually impaired viewers. Please allow an alt-text feature on these images so the text on them can be accessible.
Please add this feature!
I don't know how this isn't implemented yet - hopefully soon. Voted & Shared <3
Appalled at the lack of accessibility options for twitch panels.
Heading into 2022 and this isn't a thing... kinda mad
Yo let's get going on this one, lots of people could use the feature!
This has been around since 2017 and still no real work from twitch! We know from Twitter that this feature is a boon and should be easy to add.
Let's upvote and pester Twitch until they get it together!!!
Please add this feature. That's the bare minimum and fairly easy to implement, no?

"# How do we do this?
Here’s a few things we’re working on right now:
- Reducing accessibility defects
- Including accessibility documentation in our core components
- Inviting streamers with disabilities to provide feedback
- Setting up a resource group for employees with disabilities
- And more!
We’re working ******* the Twitch experience and are on our way to our Level A accessibility goal."
I don't think so.
This is a 3 year old issue
This is really a bare minimum for accessibility. So many channels use images with text content in their about pages; without alt text, users with screen readers are unable to access that information. Streamers must be allowed to specify alt text for their images.
When entire sets of panels are just images with text in, surely it makes sense to allow Alt Text for these. Twitter manages to do it with their Alt Text for images - I want to be able to do it but I am currently prevented from doing so; instead I put in an image and retype the text in that image underneath.
That would be amazing! Absolutely.
Voted! Panel header images are generally used for displaying text, so it is especially important to have alt-text for them.
More control over attributes of the HTML elements in the panels and the CSS styling, especially the IMG tags would be very helpful. Being able to add both ALT and TITLE attributes with the relevants ALT texts for accessibility and TITLE/Mouse hover texts with additional explanation seem like very basic and necessary features that are missing.
Often broadcasters are putting images as their entire panels for content that is just text with some framing because all the various CSS controls for adding suitable styling for the text and an icon or background to a panel, Etc; Just is not there... this is not just bad for accessibility for disabled users: its also a worse experience for both those creating and maintaining a channel's panels and the viewers.
So aside from being able to customize ALT an TITLE.... It would also be useful to be able to customize CSS and more of a panel's HTML possibly have a rich panel type allowing upload of a font or icon and full customization of the html+css inside a sandbox (excepting for no scripting or embedding objects with a src= of a 3rd party web server).

Thanks for posting this Stevie you got to it before me. This has been annoying me for a time as I work with some blind people and they have commented this when I been encouraging them to use Twitch.
