1. Web layout MUST be made responsive to window width.

   I don't know what window width Twitch imagines as a minimum, but it's clearly wider than my window width, as chat and the chat menu do NOT display on a channel page unless I maximize my window. This is utterly insane in 2023. The chat menu must ALWAYS show, no matter how narrow the window. I will not say how wide my window is, because my entire point is that it should not matter. The inventor of the WWW, Tim Berners-Lee, intended it to be device independent. That means that everything on the page should be accessible regardless of window width. This is Web Design 101, and anyone on your Web team who does not grok this should be dismissed as they are unqualified to be in the field at all.

   Your current site forces me to 1)maximize my window (yuck, ugh, ****), 2)look for the chat menu, 3)pop-out the chat, and then 4)un-maximize to restore my desktop to sanity. Ridiculous hoops to be forced to jump through.

   You absolutely MUST fix this. And fire anyone who doesn't "get" it.

2. browser zoom chat scrolling

   If the browser zoom level is changed , chat scrolling doesn't work.

   The chat keeps saying "Chat paused due to scroll" when I haven't scrolled anything.

   Whatever you're using to detect whether the chat has scrolled isn't taking into account the browser zoom level.

3. Addressing the disability gatekeeping in Affiliate/Partner and Tags; Things we've brought up for Years now, and Possible Solutions.

   The way Twitch is currently set up, most people with moderate to severe disability(s) are entirely unable to join the community of streamers on equal ground. Forget Partner; just getting to Affiliate is a wall that not all of us have the equipment to climb over.

   On top of that, streamers have to choose either putting tags related to their games OR to their identity and community markers; am I putting "autistic" or "CC" or "hard of hearing" or "disabled or "nonbinary" or - or- or - OR.

   There's no consideration for this, for the many of us who are passionate and have so much to share, who want to be an active part of the streaming community on Twitch in a way that allows us to access the same possibilities.

   I won't just complain: There are steps that can be taken toward positive change.

   One: Have an Alternative Needs option for Partner and Affiliate that would be, instead of an application to start with, a form to submit that we can use to tell you what we can and cannot reasonably do because of our disability(s). Then send an Adapted application with those restrictions removed and possibly some other goals (within our power and not dependent on others, ie: views/follows) reasonably altered or extended to make it fair. An example would be: "A disabled streamer cannot stream multiple times a week or adhere to a predictable/regulated schedule, however their total time streaming is [time], and they have been streaming since [date], and therefore is a good option for the program."

   Alternatively, require ID verification only and allow the Affiliate program to be significantly more open and accessible to people of all schedules and lifestyles, and then the above suggestion would only apply to Partner.

   Two: We have been asking for changes to the tag system for years now. Those changes are long overdue, the pizza is cold and moldy, and it's a problem.

   Unlimited tags is an easy way to effortlessly solve this, but I have an even more community-driven suggestion. Do you all remember when YouTube used to actually have side-bar profiles? Twitch could really use something like that, a place for more than a brief sentence to introduce ourselves on a crowded screen.

   An actual profile page to get to know the streamer, favorite games, how long they've been part of Twitch, and what communities they're a part of would be an incredible boon for us all. And that last part about the communities? That would be where the tags relevant for WHO we are as streamers would go. Separating them from the stream information means viewers could search for a type of stream AND a streamer from a community they want to participate in.

   At the end of the day, we've been asking for these exact things, Twitch, for literal years. Look in this category and see just how many repeats there are with hundreds of votes, some from 2019. We feel ignored, invalidated, undervalued, unwanted, and incapable of even hoping for what is, for everyone else, an equal opportunity. Show us, through change and not words, that you're listening.

4. scrollbar

   Browser scrollbar is 99% invisible and 1 pixel width.. pretty bad UX for everyone, especially if you have bad eye sight or not ultra accurate mouse hand coordination, but i guess twitch doesnt care about that.

5. Report Bug Other

   I am attempting to report a bug with closed captions. I can not find a way to do it. A report bug other, fill in the field would have saved me about a half hour at this point. I am watching the rerun of critical role and the closed captions are gibberish. They work fine for the 7pm run and not the 12am run. It has been this way for atleast 3 weeks.

6. Twitch UI changed after i randomly entered some keys, Dont know how to change it back

   I somehow made the twitch UI colors more diffrent and some inverted, from some button combo. I dont know how to revert it. please help

7. Subtitles are NOT Closed Captions - Please Change

   Many people think "closed captions" and subtitles are the same; they aren't.

   CC denotes who is speaking (for ex: "Albert: I think it's rather nice out!").

   Subtitles only show what is being said (for ex: "I think it's rather nice out!").

   It might not be a big deal to most, but if you're deaf, this is huge. It's literally the difference between something easy to follow (actual CC) versus realtime subtitles that might not even accurately represent what's being said.

   I know streaming isn't movie making, but imagine watching, say, The Witcher with the sound turned off, but with subtitles on. Even better, go do it. You'll notice two things quickly:

   1) The irony of having to read lips despite having subtitles - it's the only way to figure out who's saying what (this is just about impossible for most people)

   2) Strong physical/emotional reactions to things you can't see - because they're loud noises. Or suspicious noises (footsteps in a dark room, say). If you're deaf, you have no idea what the character is reacting to.

   It's not only un-fun, but I've actually watched my sister kind of wither when getting frustrated with subtitles. It's difficult to see that and not say something :/

   I'm not complaining. Having live subtitles is a wonderful feature. I know it's an inconvenience because of the [cc] you use to refer to the feature. But it's not [cc], and, though we try not to say anything about it, it really does need to be fixed (renamed).

   As a creator, I can't truthfully put [cc] in my title's feed because it can't be [cc]'d by realtime subtitles. That means I can't use the tag. That means the deaf and hard of hearing might not find my content. Like my sister, for example, and the deaf friends I've made along the way from being in her life (which includes a couple gamer friends).

   It's also dangerous to leave it as-is because people will eventually think subtitles are "[cc]". It will solidify the confusion between subtitles and closed captioning. Then, in the future, when others speak up about this problem, the argument will be: "But Twitch already has [cc]!!!"

   Then the "subtitles aren't closed captioning" argument begins all over.

   Please, please, please find a way to accurately represent the subtitle feature. I know the mistake isn't intentional. As a dev, I know how important it is to get accessibility right. I also know twitch is a behemoth to maintain, and that nobody can be everywhere at once to catch everything. Which I suppose is why we have these forums :)

8. Disabled Streamers Making Partner

   Disabled streamers just don't get a fair shot at making it to "Partner". I have physical issues which have obviously created an unfair playing field to make the numbers required. Plenty of concern in here about that. Change this, Twitch. You're better than this.

9. Remove the "Come here often" pop-up

   Some people enjoy watching streams of games they enjoy/have an interest in purchasing but don't want to follow that specific channel (for whatever reason).
   However, there's a certain little pop-up that covers the bottom portion of the stream, pointing at the follow button, that says "Come here often? Come back to [insert Streamers name here] channel FASTER by hitting that follow button" (with a bunch of hands pointing down at the follow button like we can't see it).

   See, some of us just want to watch a stream, chill out and not feel pressured to follow/sub/whatever and I wouldn't have a problem with the pop-up so much IF it only showed up once per stream .. but it seems to show up every few minutes.. pressuring you to follow.. insulting you for not following.. why haven't you followed?.. you're still here, you should follow..

So, IF you follow then you announce your presense, which the streamer tends to try to strike up conversations, and you feel pressure to say more... which is fine and dandy. It's kind of the point of broadcasting yourself. You want interaction. but sometimes, as a viewer, you want to just lurk, and the constant pressure to follow does a number on those with social anxiety who want to .. just Lurk

10. Loud Sounds

    Loud sounds with streamer store is hurting my, and probaly, others hearing
    Beeing someone who watchs streams all day long while using PC, I need to report that some streamers are using the Stream Store in chat to sell audios and sounds with external app linked to the chat store.
    I liked the Idea, but now I can watch some streams with this feature, because they are using rocket, fireworks and some loud sounds, this is hurting my hearing, so I NEED to close the stream I was watching and search for another one. I dont want to remove store or something like that, I just think that could be someway to prevent streamers to let LOUD sounds play with store...

11. Ensure that rules around being asleep on stream are not discriminatory

    As someone with a condition similar to Narcolepsy I am potentially subject to sleep attacks - without notable warning.

    As far as i am aware, the current ToS would result in me being potentially banned should i have a sleep attack while streaming and not have a Mod in chat at that precise moment.

    I am currently a small streamer (and while that reduces the likelihood of me being reported for 'unattended chat while streamer sleeps' it doesn't eliminate it - and that may change over time), and as such it is not always possible to have a mod lurking around "just in case".

    As Narcolepsy is not that uncommon it would be beneficial if you consider the impacts of a "you snooze, you lose (your account)" policy.

    As someone with a condition similar to Narcolepsy I am potentially subject to sleep attacks - without notable warning.

12. They should prohibit streamers from shouting loudly when speaking, because most viewers use headphones and loud sounds cause us discomfort.

    The mute button is discriminatory against people who can't speak. There are more than 1 million people who are mute. Calling the button as that term not only reduces their suffering to a button of convenience but also equates them to being worth nothing. Please change the name to '0 volume' or 'no volume'.

15. Closed Captioning and Swearing

    I've noticed that closed captioning automatically filters swearing. To be honest, this is less than ideal. It assumes your hard of hearing and hearing impaired users need to have language filtered for them, to a standard which non-hearing impaired users don't. An important part is all language translated accurately as possible, otherwise you are directly deciding what language is more important for the disabled client. If a person wants to engage with streamers that swear it should be their choice whether or not they want to see that content, not chosen for them.

    Please note: How to handle slurs within closed captioning is a topic of debate, and I do not mean those, I mean words like **** and ****. If these words are okay for twitch, they should be okay for disabled people to have transcribed.

18. Change name of website from "Twitch" to be more sensitive to people with chronic muscle spasms.

    Neurological disease, Lou Gehrig's disease, Dystonia, Neuromyotonic. These are just a few issues people suffer from that are characterized by mild to severe muscle spasms, or "twitching." The community feels that the website name is a mischaracterization of a very common issue afflicting thousands of people who use the site. The name is ableist, offensive and disheartens many potential viewers and streamers.

19. Im a blind streamer,

    I know alot of my diffculties with games or on here is not beign able to find things to make my experience enjoyible. It took me 5 days to figure out how to unsubscribe, or even find a chat bot, high contrast fonts, or the ability to text to read or a warning whomever engages with me, knows Im blind, because no one ever reads the profiles. to understand Im not going to behave or interact with them the same way as sighted streamers

20. Fix the system for autistics

    Problem:
    - Search for "declare yourself autistic twitch tv" and no expected results will come.

    • The BIG issue:
      • TWTV has grown up and its too huge, there is not enough ppl on the earth that can track down what is being said, who is about to commit a crime, who is about to harass someone. That's why we should focus on the "system" itself. I am first focusing on the ppl with autism, the most sensible people, the others should be next.

    Major characteristics for people at the classic side of the autism spectrum that can manifest on TWTV:
    - They don't wanna that other users recognize them as an autistic, they don't wanna have a special treatment. But they should be.
    - They have issues recolonizing harassment, cause they don't think that people would see then as a treat.
    - Most of then like to accumulate anger inside, cause even tho they can't truly recognize a harassment, they can feel it.

    Thoughts:
    - People should be able to self declarative autistic when they register (a checkbox).
    - New users that have are already registered should be asked if they have any
    mental/physical difficulty on a new modal when they open the twitch (even on the app).
    - You guys don't ask the age of the user, you should starting getting it soon. (I remember that you guys used to ask that, why did you stop?)
    - The leak of the personal state (physical/mental condition of the user) of the user by a streamer should be a reason for punishment (30 ban maybe?)
    if the person that has the data leaked feels damage somehow.

    My Personal solution, as if I worked for TWTV:
    - Make a new terms of service exclusive for people with autism, also create the following scheme:
    - Disable private messages automatically for their profile.
    - Display a big RED warning to those that want to tag someone with autism on the chat,
    the message should say something "Be careful with what you are saying, this person has a special condition".
    - Make impossible to track how many Austin users are on TWTV thought the API
    - Hide bad words by default for those that have self declared autistic.
    - Make a new icon that would be the first displayed for the user that have self declared autistic an [A] only for
    the streamer chat, the normal chat should not be display the [A]
    - A new option for the streamer should appear (a toggle) that would display all the social/physical difficulty for
    his users (I am thinking that in a near future other problems such ADHD would be implemented as well with its own
    particular solutions)

    Overall View:
    - People with autism should definitely have a special treatment cause they have always have a different vision, they are thinking
    one step ahead, most of the times but some times they are really behind tho. And is in that area that we can help them.
    That's why we should act, as a community, as a group, and build space for then to have a have a better mental health and let then show how beautiful

    • The BIG issue:
      • TWTV has grown up and its too huge, there is not enough ppl on the earth that can track down what is being said, who is about to commit a crime, who is about to harass someone. That's why we should focus on the "system" itself. I am first focusing on the ppl with autism, the most sensible people, the others should be next.
