Suggestion: Add Bosnian Language to Twitch Interface
Hello Twitch team,
I’d like to raise a concern regarding language support on your platform. Twitch currently does not offer Bosnian as a language option — despite the fact that it’s the official language of Bosnia and Herzegovina, spoken by around 2 million people, and also widely used in other Balkan countries such as Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Slovenia, and North Macedonia.
Beyond the region itself, the Bosnian diaspora is large and globally active, with strong communities in:
Germany – over 200,000 Bosnians
Sweden – approximately 100,000
United States – around 350,000, including 70,000 in St. Louis
Canada – over 38,000
Switzerland – estimated 60,000–70,000
Austria – approximately 155,000, including 46,000 in Vienna
Australia – over 28,000
United Kingdom – around 22,000
Many Bosnian speakers are active on Twitch — as streamers, viewers, and community members. Yet we’re forced to use unrelated languages, which affects accessibility and user experience.
Bosnian is a fully standardized language with its own grammar, vocabulary, and cultural identity. Adding it to Twitch’s language settings would be a meaningful step toward inclusion and recognition of a vibrant, global community.
I hope you’ll consider supporting Bosnian on Twitch. It would mean a lot to users in Bosnia and Herzegovina — and to Bosnian speakers around the world.
Thank you for your time and attention.
