Add a feature to turn off the power-up feature
What if a streamer doesn't want the power-ups to clutter up their channel points?

The lack of foresight in how this might be abused to disrupt streams and to promote hate is staggering. I have a rule about what emotes I allow in chat because of who I am and what certain things mean to my community. Stealing my autonomy so you can sell bits while simultaneously ruining my stream experience is disgusting. It needs a toggle at the very least.

Gotta say, the chat one makes it impossible to do anything but stare at and dostract me mid sentence. Not fun.

OPT IN, not default!

The idea has merit, but the current implementation severely disrupts chat. On/Off toggle would be ideal.

Terrible idea, which is probably why content creators weren't consulted before rolling it out. Needs to be rolled back ASAP.

I've spent a lot of time cultivating a specific look and feel for my streams, and making it so that per-scene redeems appear at the top of the list to make them easy for people to find.
That's been completely destroyed by this miserable feature that wasn't asked for, can't be turned off, and shoves Channel Points downward in favor of promoting Bits.
Like comments made by many, MANY others, I want to be able to present my streams in the way I intended and provide fun ways of interaction for friends, community members, and those just stopping by. The absolute last thing I want is for people to feel pressured into spending money to be seen, or actively disrupt the stream, or otherwise add unintended effects that can't be turned off and ruin the cultivated experience that I've worked hard to create. Since I can't turn this off, I've made all of them the maximum amount (10,000 bits) and changed the icons to discourage people from using them.
That's not even getting into the obvious potential for abuse where someone can try to bypass checks to have a rude message, or an inappropriate "gigantified" or "celebration" emote that's completely out of the streamer's control or done at an inappropriate time. As of this writing, Power-ups have also disabled the ability to turn Channel Points on and off. Regardless of the reason(s) why, this reads as Twitch keeping people from disabling Points and Power-ups in protest because these two things seem to be tied together.
This was a system that was rolled out with a clear eye on generating more money for Twitch and little to no consideration for the people that use Twitch's services. Even then, not all of us are interested in making money off of Twitch - or, really, expecting to make money off of Twitch. This scheme of adding a new "feature" that actively damages the core product also damages Twitch's relationship with streamers and viewers alike. Considering this jumped to the highest number of votes on UserVoice in just a day or two, this feature, and any others on the roadmap that don't allow users to have a say on what does and doesn't affect their stream, should be seriously reconsidered.

Can we also mention that the on screen celebration can be achieved, for free, by using streamelements? And SE does it better. As a streamer I want the ability to allow cool interactions For Free for my community and the ability to turn it off if I don't want it to interrupt my broadcast. What if I am doing a serious convo and then someone redeems to do the on screen celebration with some inappropriate emote that hasn't been flagged yet? At least with SE I can turn off the overlay to drop it when I don't want it happening.

When Twitch has made it clear that the streamer is responsible for the actions of their viewers, why then add a "feature" that the viewers have more control over than the streamer? That's dangerous, and easily abused.
I need to be able to turn this off. Give me the OPTION. Give me as the CONTENT CREATOR a CHOICE in what visuals I put on my stream.
It's a blatant cash grab that serves absolutely no function for streamers.

A toggle to completely disable this feature is a must for all the reasons stated many times already.
Granular control to disable individual power ups is also a must as some streamers may want to use some but not all options.
Full control over cooldown timers and maximum redeems per stream for all power ups is also a must, we don't want an entire stream filled with never ending giant emotes etc.
Granular control over what emotes are allowed to be 'Gigantified' is that even a word? If i'm going to use this power up I want control of what emotes can be used.
Also as previously stated power ups belong in the bits tab not the channel points tab, if you insist on it being in channel points I want to be able to make it cost channel points as well as or instead of bits but it still needs to have a toggle to turn them off.
Side note maybe the people who have these ideas should ask the streamers if they would be willing to use them if implemented or what changes should be made before rolling them out to potentially cause havoc and backlash from the community.

The Power-Ups have no place in the Channel Points menu since you have to use bits and can't use channel points to redeem these "features"(eyesores).
Why was this not placed in the Bits menu? It makes more sense to have it there! And no option to turn it off either. Our only option is to make them as expensive as you let us wich is 10k bits.
The ONLY Power-Up that you have more control over is the Onscreen Celebration wich you do let us set limits such as cooldown and max redeem.I'm okay with the message effect thing as it is not as disruptive as the other 2.
Lastly, why was there 0 communication that this "feature"(eyesore) comes?
Usualy we have days/weeks prior notice for things. But this time you decided to drop something on everyone affiliated or partnered without ever asking us if we even want it and gave us neither a disable option nor a proper alert option in your verry own alert system... -

Should be in Bits not Channel Points. Should have options to pause. Should have allowlist or blocklist features for emotes. And all of this should have been BEFORE you launched it. Did you talk to Trust & Safety at all?!

there needs to be much more configurability on this. like a selection of which emotes are eligible or a banned list of emotes that may not be used in such a way, or when the effects may appear.
just imagine a malicious viewer knows the streamer is terrified of spiders and they cheer a spider emote screen celebration.
apparently any emote can be used for these effects. might even be ones that the viewer themselves made and wants to promote themselves with excessively.
there might be a really quiet moment in a game, or a heartfelt discussion of a sensitive topic where is it absolutely inappropriate to use these effects.
how did those kinds of concerns not come up during any moment of the development process?

you need to fire who ever comes up with this garbage its almost like you dont really know how streams work this isnt TikTOK! it's like one bad idea after another and you don't even gives a option to choose what are you even thinking there is so much other stuff that needs to be fixed on the site but you keep jingling keys with **** most of us don't want instead just make the site run good and let us do our thing and let the 3rd parties handle the bells and whistles it is way better that way

Please allow us to disable the power ups... otherwise they're set to 10k and we all look greedy and some of us don't want things that are disruptive

Streamers should absolutely be able to turn this power-up off, unless it is moved to someplace other than the channel points menu. Viewers could accidentally spend bits (real money) when they think they are spending channel points. Money redeems and channel point redeems should be kept separate. This feature, as it exists now, also takes attention away from the streamer's customized channel point awards which are based on watchtime rather than ability to buy bits.

This feature is very intrusive and annoying for both the streamer and viewers. If you won't give us a way to disable it, at least move the power ups section to below the normal channel points section. As it stands, it forces viewers to have to scroll down past the power ups to use normal channel point redemptions, which is convoluted and asinine. It would be ideal if we could just disable this feature (since it seems like most people hate it for valid reasons), but at the very least just let us push it as far to the bottom as possible. Out of sight, out of mind. Do better, Twitch.

as a viewer, I dislike this. It's disruptive to the streams i watch. this should be an option, not a mandatory feature.
