i can offer a workaround if you use ublock origin. use the picker tool to remove the emote you don't want to see. it writes an individual filter to your preferences and disables loading of that image url.
of course this will not work if you're on mobile and use the app.

I'm using firefox blocking autoplay of both audio and video as a per site setting. not sure if Chrome based browsers have the same feature. and app users can't do anything about it.

there needs to be much more configurability on this. like a selection of which emotes are eligible or a banned list of emotes that may not be used in such a way, or when the effects may appear.
just imagine a malicious viewer knows the streamer is terrified of spiders and they cheer a spider emote screen celebration.
apparently any emote can be used for these effects. might even be ones that the viewer themselves made and wants to promote themselves with excessively.
there might be a really quiet moment in a game, or a heartfelt discussion of a sensitive topic where is it absolutely inappropriate to use these effects.
how did those kinds of concerns not come up during any moment of the development process?
