[Experiment] Making Cheering Easier
For a limited time, within a select number of channels, we’re testing a different way to Cheer through direct purchase Cheering.
Direct purchase Cheering allows you to unlock a fun community benefit through monetary payment, rather than through Bits. This experiment is only available to select creators and you must be located in the U.S. to participate. If you have any further questions please refer to our help article (https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/cheering-experiment-2022?language=en_US)
We look forward to hearing your feedback on this!

I DID NOT RECEIVE AN INVITATION AND DID NOT AGREE TO THIS.
YOU AND I ARE LOSING MONEY DUE TO THIS CHANGE. MY FOLLOWERS ARE USED TO BITS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR URGENT ASSISTANCE. PLEASE!!!

This is really shady. Twitch starts giving ads to everyone, and now wants to essentially steal profit from creators on top of that without direct communication on how much the streamer actually gets? Why is Twitch all the sudden super greedy? This is the wrong direction to go.

I don't like this new system, please continue with the old system

I do not agree with how the split is going to be less to streamers, if any they diserve more. I don't agree either with the lack of transparency with the new system. Take it back, don't implement this!

This makes it more confusing to explain to viewers how much creators will actually earn when someone wants to contribute to the creator. This is not transparent to the viewer and even if someone can calculate it — why would anyone want to go through the effort every time to do the math?

I will not use this cheering method if it is changed. Viewers are okay with paying the amount, rather than streamers getting less money.

I can assure Twitch that I will never use this new cheering method if it is rolled out permanently. Bits are fine. Leave them alone.

This makes cheering harder, reduces cheering amounts and creators get less revenue from cheering. The fact that people *have* to cheer using this method and it doesn't contribute to hype trains just makes it deincentivize small creators further. When is this ending? I'm ready for this to be done.

This doesnt make cheering easier, it just makes me not want to cheer at all.

I feel that this is a good change, but the viewer should see the fees the streamer is saddled with and not just the amount they paid. basically it there should be a box showing how much the streamer is taking home after the fee is taken from the donation.

I do not like this system, i prefer the notion of bits and bit badges.

I had 0 notifications on my profile and no emails from twitch indicating that they were changing anything. I start streaming to find out that people can't use the bits they had already pre-purchased on me, and instead need to get a special currency just for me. Confused, I checked my earnings page only to see that the new currency isn't being tracked in my analytics... i hate it here

No one likes Direct Purchase Cheering. As stated by many other streamers previously in this thread, it kills engagement. No hype trains, no bit emotes, etc. This was a bad idea. The worst part is that I didn't get the email to opt out, so now I'm stuck with it until you show me some mercy and remove Direct Purchase Cheering to go back to bits.

Hey, it was really unclear that bits were going to be taken down in the initial email and the fact that we can not opt out after the start and testing is absurd and GREATLY impacting our sources of revenue. My community greatly dislikes the feature and inability to use bits and especially as custom amounts aren't even an option. Not to mention, without the ability to have alerts or hype trains is just killing my stream engagement at times. While I typically love to participate in research, you are ALWAYS given the option to discontinue if the research causes more harm than good and that is NOT presented here. Please allow this option for this particular "cheer". Thank you.

This new system is **** and my community hates it. I’m very irritated that I was opted into this against my consent.

My biggest issue is you just decided to opt me in without my permission..second my community hates this new feature and it’s negatively effect my channel & community also we already have features to “highlight messages and unlock emotes for free” I think this is just a way to take more earnings from unsuspecting streamers. I really hope This “experiment” is over quick.

I really do not like this new system at all. It feels deceptive, it's less flexible, and you're taking money away from your creators. There are numerous other disadvantages as other people in the comments here have pointed out.
If this happened along side bits as basically a way to do a paid "highlight my message" then fine, but replacing bits with this entirely seems like a grave mistake.

This is REALLY hurting my stream and community. My viewers are upset that these cheers don't contribute to alerts or hype trains AND that they are no longer able to use the bits they have already purchased in my channel. As a Streamer I am VERY upset that viewers are no longer being acknowledged for their contributions.
You're also LYING to our viewers. If a person clicks "Cheer $1" they think the creator is getting an entire dollar...which is NOT true. When viewers buy bits, they see that 1bit costs them MORE than 1 cent, but they understand that each bit means 1 cent to the creator.
