[Feature] Stories on Twitch
Stories on Twitch is a new feature in the Twitch mobile app that helps you stay connected with your community when you’re not live. Stories let you share photos, clips, or freeform content using text, custom channel emotes, and backgrounds that expire in 48 hours. Creating stories is currently limited to Partners & Affiliates who have had at least one stream in the last 30 days. Streamers with at least 30 subscribers (including gift subs) will also have the option to create sub-only stories. Learn more about stories and current eligibility requirements in our Help Article: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/stories. We'd love to learn what else you'd like to see so share with us your feedback.
I’ve been trying to get a verified badge on here

allow us to disable stories, they’re useless to me and it kinda just seems like you’re trying to become an app that you aren’t to try and keep creators on your shotty payroll
Its great that your implementing new stuff and evolve your app. But you cant just force all this stuff on your viewers. At least give us the option to disable and enable. Not everybody is gonna like these new things. Dont be like Whatsapp. There are a lot of people dont like the storys there too. Why does everybody think their new invention (we all know you're just copying Insta or whatever) has to be forced on everybody. Why do people who want everything how it has been get discriminated.
So I actually just wanted to say: give us at least the option to turn off these new features.
I like this, but.. Please implement a disable feature for stories..
How can I turn off this function?
Can’t you turn off stories?
I think the whole thing's great honestly. I have a podcast show since May of 2020 and I grew over 700% in the last three and a half years. This year alone I grew up to 471% and a lot of my stuff is explicit but the main theme is to work towards yourself mental health and people who deal with anxiety ADHD and bring a more positive message to that on top of all that I also talk about my personal struggles and make skits and bits about it and other things just for a laugh because at the end of the day that's all we can do. We can laugh about it we can cry about it but I don't think we should worry about it everyday. And that's what my goal is. So if I have to use twitch as a platform also I would love to try to do some story Time on twitch. Thank you great idea.
Viewers are already engaged via notifications, why does Twitch feel it is necessary to force further engagement? 1) notifications do not work; 2) viewership is down across their entire network; 3) Twitch is interested in losing more viewers; 4) all of the above.
If communities truly need another way to engage viewers then let the end user choose to be engaged and provide those who do not the ability to hide stories!
I don’t like the feature, I don’t want the feature clogging up my already crowded page and there’s zero option to remove them. It’s a fail. I have unfollowed people I like to get rid of these obtrusive things. Bugger off with it. You may be super proud of your ‘innovation’ but it’s a massive inconvenience.
Please implement a disable feature for stories. They are intrusive on the mobile apps, especially when your in landscape mode. Also, many streamers are not using it as intended, instead using it as a going live notification. Which we have to stare at different "going live" stories for the next 48 hours. If you want to add features, plz do more QA testing for your mobile apps, as the many comments posted here show it's a horrible addition on mobile. Thanks.
How can I turn off this (unnecessary) function? Unnecessarily consumes space/memory/resources of older smartphones and/or limited data volumes.
The Twitch app is becoming less and less fun to use.
Alternative apps are becoming more and more interesting and popular and also work on older smartphones...
