Native Integration of the Developer Console (dev.twitch.tv) into Twitch.tv Settings
Currently, to access and manage applications, extensions, and API tools, developers must leave the main platform and log into a separate portal (dev.twitch.tv). My suggestion is to integrate the Developer Console directly into the main website (twitch.tv), creating a unified and more seamless experience.
How work:
Optional Activation (Opt-in): To ensure the interface remains clean and doesn't confuse casual users, this feature would be disabled by default. Users would need to go to their settings and check an option such as "Enable Developer Mode".
New "Developer" Tab: Once the developer account is enabled, a new, dedicated tab called "Developer" would appear in the Account Settings or Creator Dashboard, directly within twitch.tv.
Centralized Access: The entire dashboard for managing apps, drops, extensions, and the API would be embedded within this new page, eliminating the need for constant redirects between domains.
+
Streamlined Workflow: Developers and content creators building their own tools could manage everything in a single place without having to constantly switch between different websites.
Better User Experience (UX): It unifies the Twitch ecosystem, making it feel like a single, cohesive platform.
Zero Impact on Standard Users: Because the tab requires prior activation (opt-in), the general audience wouldn't be cluttered with technical menus they do not use.
Due to the size of our developer offerings on dev.twitch.tv, and the confusion being on the main website may cause for users who do not need to access it, we do not plan on combining the Developer Console into the primary www.twitch.tv website
