  1. I want my Twitch Extension to be able to copy text to clipboard. It seems as though that the iframe allowed permissions are limiting this. Therefore I request for Twitch staff to add clipboard-read; and maybe clipboard-write;

  2. The problem occurred after the release of an extension game i developed, where the viewers could spend channel points to obtain in-game currency. With over 6000 viewers, the chat became impossible to moderate as there were so many messages per second. This very simple option would greatly relieve the chat in such situations.

    E.g.: "is_highlighted" (defaults to true)

  3. Events endpoints like https://api.twitch.tv/helix/moderation/banned/events and https://api.twitch.tv/helix/moderation/moderators/events only provide a short history of events.

This makes it difficult when a 3rd party dev takes on a new client to collect historical data from before they started offering services to the new client. Answering a question like when did I mod this mod? Is not something that can be answered without historical data.

Allowing a request for as much historical data as available (hopefully more then the current amount provided by the endpoints) or requesting for a specific time amount would allow new 3rd party dev and single custom one off developers…

  4. There does not seem be an equivalent for v5's chat endpoints. In particular, there does not appear to be an endpoint for getting all emoticons such as https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/chat/emoticons.

  5. The current APIs max out at 100 items per page, and while this is fine for most channels, there are some where you end up having to paginate for a long time to reach the end of the list.

Given there is rate limiting in place, would it be possible to make an endpoint (or use the current endpoints and add an "all" query parameter) with a high rate-limit cost that allows for the bulk fetching of this information?

  6. Similar to - https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/41272606-extend-start-commercial-error-message-to-return-r

Please provide an endpoint that returns the following information

    • adverts last run
    • adverts can run next (retry_after)
    • adverts max duration

    SImilar to https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/41272606-extend-start-commercial-error-message-to-return-r

It would be useful to provide better tooling for streamers whom have a contract requiring ads to be run.

  7. Rather than having to get all clips from a created time frame window.

It would be nicer to be able to get all clips from a given video ID. Both from a performance perspective and ease of use perspective.

It's then easier for editors to collate clips from a given stream for highlight compilation creation

  8. It would be useful to get "active only" prediction

As a quick way to go "is a prediction already running"

As apposed to calling "get first 1" and assuming that the 1st is the most recent (and thus active) prediction

Active would be "active/locked" in this wording. IE any state that prevents a "Create Channel Points Prediction" call succeeding

  9. I would love to have as an extension of the recently released Prediction API a way to be notified (EventSub or webhook) when someone just spent some channel points in a prediction.

I understand that for big channels a lot of notifications could be sent at the same time, but why not at least merging some notifications in one to bring down a bit this issue?

It could be an array of predictor objects with defined max amount of objects per notifications (let's say 100, if 1000 predictors only 10 requests would be sent by the API).

    The difference with…

  10. The endpoints announced earlier today ( https://discuss.dev.twitch.tv/t/announcing-apis-and-eventsub-for-polls-and-predictions/31539 ) should be usable by channel moderators so that third-party apps like Chatty can make use of them without the broadcaster needing to authenticate.

  11. Okay, I got the user access tokens... not how to use it? The page ends without a word...
(like how to get what user is the one who accepted the request).
Also the scope list is not full - Discord use other roles as well, not mentioned in that docs.

  12. Add a occured_at timestamp that tells you when the content in the clip was actually streamed.

Clips API objects have a created_at timestamp which is when the user made the clip but this can be months or years off from when the content in a clip actually happened if a clip was made from a VOD which makes created_at useless for a lot of use cases.

Even for clips from livestreams this is an issue as users can cut clips from a 2 minute (90 secs?) window so the actual content of two clips with the exact same created_at timestamps…

  13. The API https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#check-automod-status

Only lets you check automod for the channel.

But it'll only do it to the value that the channel is set to

Please allow the developer to test a given phrase at a different automod level to that that the channel is set to.

Say the channel is set to level 1, I may want to test a paticular phrase or message about to be sent to an overlay or other property at level 3 or 4 instead for additional security/moderation beyond the level that chat is set to

  14. API endpoints should be implemented within the moderation:read or channel:moderate scope (not sure which would be the better fit) for the info present in the /user panel in mod view.

I imagine it would work very similarly to /helix/moderation/banned/events but with two major differences:
    • broadcaster_id would not require matching the user_id in the auth token; it would just need to match a broadcaster_id that the user is a moderator for.
    • user_id in the API call becomes a required parameter to keep it in line with how the /user panel works today

This should result in allowing applications to…

  16. The Developer APIs are often used to resolve relationships with sets of accounts used in follow bots through the Block User Endpoint. It would be useful if we could expand the reasons to allow developers to programmatically report bot accounts to help Twitch in removing these accounts. We are all actively building systems to help combat this issue on behalf of Twitch, so let us do our best to help your team.

  17. I see you have it in your v5 API https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/channels#reset-channel-stream-key

But it seems like there's no way to do this in the current API? This would allow someone to create an automated channel for a community, like the Randomania channel, or the ZeldaSpeedruns channel

  19. instead of using a custom number for bets we should also be able to enter i.e. 20% to easily bet 20% of my channelpoints. also your new ad system sucks. just implement a little banner instead of fullscreen minutelong ads. i know you need the money but imagine a content creator does the most amazing joke ever but you miss it because of an ad.

  20. "The v5 endpoint searched for the channel title and category. Use “Search Channels” to match channel name or title." on https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/migration is wrong because the new API does not matches the title! There is no replacement for title searching!
