Please optimize your platform.
I must echo the ideas asking that you optimize your streaming. Reporting playback issues through the player is not sufficient because in all the years since the issues have seemingly gotten worse. It feels like a bandaid solution that gives users an avenue to think that something's being done when it isn't.
My previous PC was starting to show its age, but was no slouch. i5 4590, R9 290X, 16GB DDR3 at 1600mhz. It ran DOOM Eternal at around 100fps on high settings. But Twitch streams? Constant hanging, constantly needing to refresh. Adblocking was a necessity for watching streams because the ads would crash my browser. Task Manager would show my GPU struggling, running at max wattage and 70-90% usage. My network speed was perfectly fine, however. Something wasn't adding up.
My current PC was built near the beginning of this year, and is much more capable. Ryzen 5 5600X, RX 6700 XT, 32GB DDR4 at 3600Mhz. I currently pay for Twitch Turbo and yet, for some reason, these problems are coming back with increasing frequency. It's also taking much longer to refresh the page, while other sites take the same amount of time. That rules out my Internet speed.
I'd like to remind you that most of your viewership uses much lower end hardware than I have. Can you imagine how many viewers are turned away not because they have to watch ads, but because ads cause their browser to freeze and crash?
I get it, you don't want to spend the money because red line go up or whatever. But this needs some serious work done. Optimize your site. I am begging here. Please.
