Audio and Video falling out of sync especially in Low Latency
When watching a stream, especially in Low Latency mode, the stream pauses and buffers every now and again, usually first after just few minutes (despite 1 Gbit connection) and after a few of those, the audio and video fall out of sync, quite noticably.
The fix is to either refresh the whole page (long way, losing chat) or toggle the Low Latency toggle off and on, which fixes it for some time.

Howdy Twitch,
When watching music streams I observed the audio being distorted or warped like it was being played back at a different speed. This completely ruined the music stream as you can imagine.
Upon investigation, I learned that twitch can speed up the video to catch up if it becomes too delayed when using Low Latency mode.
I tried turning Low Latency mode off, which does solve the audio issue of course, but the standard delay is bad (6 seconds instead of 1 second), so I don't consider that a solution.
I used FFZ to display the delay under the stream so I can see what's going on. I learned that when I have a stream open in one tab, but I'm also doing other stuff in other tabs, the twitch video changes itself in the background, lowering bitrate or something.
I can understand your desire to do that, but when that happens the video becomes delayed by over 30 seconds. This causes the "speed up to catch up" thing to go haywire, and basically the video never catches up, it just ruins the audio forever, until the viewer gets mad and leaves.
In FFZ I disabled "Allow the player to speed up to reduce delay", which lets me have Low Latency mode and avoid warped audio. Also in FFZ I can configure the delay to turn red when it's a large number, which prompts me to refresh the page.
I feel like this is a twitch bug. The workaround is quite convoluted so most people won't be doing it, they'll be getting a bad audio experience. Personally I see browser extensions like FFZ as high risk, so I don't really want to keep that installed just to make Twitch usable. So I request that you please investigate this bug.
Thanks,

This happens in every stream I watch in a browser, slowly getting worse over time. Anytime I bring it up in chat multiple people acknowledge it happens to them too. How does twitch not acknowledge this?

Audio sounds bugged/ distorted while watching in low latency on browser. I've tested it on Brave browser and Opera. It seems to fix if you toggle it on and off.
