Though we have not yet added support for multiple language tags, we have added more than 350 new options that we think may help out with this particular ask.
For more information, you can take a look at our blog post at https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/. Thank you for your feedback and ideas!
We will leave this topic open for now for further discussion around whether this meets the needs of the request.
Hey all – thank you so much for all of your feedback around this change. We understand that this was a feature that many of you used in various situations, including the ability for Moderators to highlight or distinguish messages in Chat, and we agree that is important. We are listening to your ideas and feedback in this area – stay tuned for updates!
To provide context as to why we’ve made the decision to remove the original functionality of the /me command, we wanted to address the way this feature was being used to perpetrate abuse against members of our community. While we recognize this change is frustrating for some, the safety of our community remains our top priority.

Hey guys! We really appreciate the feedback that has been brought forth in this thread and just wanted to update you a little bit on what is going on.
This change was originally made to guard against raid bot attacks. While smaller raids are currently viewable in activity feed in the dashboard, we are working on a solution that treats raids equally while guarding against abuse tactics.

This is a further reaching issue than just permanent subs. Even if you iterate through all the subs, subtract permanent subs, and calculate the sub point count based on that, the number is still innaccurate if anyone has upgraded their sub tier in the last month because the api only shows their current tier, but the points from the lower tier still count until it runs out, but there is absolutely NO way to know this from the api. Please add the sub point count to the api. So many of us rely on this number and it's terribly frustrating not being able to pull it from anywhere.
We’ve released an update today that addresses some of the feedback in this thread:
- You can now once again highlight and copy messages for easy translation, raid message organization, and general copypastas
- Clicking into the chat will not immediately open the reply function. On hover, the reply button in the top right of the message will initiate the reply
As it’s been a few days, curious to hear whether the initial feelings and experiences have changed!
