Distinguish Monitor and Restrict Statuses for Moderators
Moderators can currently either monitor or restrict a user. These are two different moderation actions with different effects on the user.
The problem is that these two states are displayed completely identically to moderators. A user who is being monitored and a user who has been restricted receive the exact same indicator in the moderation interface.
As a result, a moderator cannot tell at a glance which of the two states is actually active.
This already causes regular confusion between moderators, even on smaller channels. In my own moderation work, this is a genuine challenge, especially when multiple moderators are active at the same time or when moderation responsibilities are handed over between different moderators.
Based on the current indicator alone, a moderator cannot tell whether another moderator has merely marked a user for monitoring or has actually restricted that user.
Suggested Improvement
The two states should be visually distinguishable for moderators.
For example, Twitch could:
use different icons for Monitor and Restrict,
use different indicators or visual markers,
or display the currently active status as text.
The important part is that a moderator should be able to immediately tell, without any additional interaction, whether a user is being monitored or has been restricted.
Why This Would Be Useful
A clear distinction between the two statuses would make collaboration between moderators much easier and prevent existing misunderstandings.
Especially when multiple moderators are managing a channel, it is important that every moderator can immediately see which moderation action has already been taken by another moderator.
This would make moderation more organized and efficient and would help prevent moderators from unnecessarily repeating the same action or making decisions based on an incorrect assumption about a user's current moderation status.
