official warning should be provided prior to bans or timeouts and bans and timeouts should not be used as an incentivizing or as a joke/fun
i feel that bans and timeouts are being used too frequently by moderators for very little reason.
i feel like there should be a system for tracking bans and timeouts by twitch employees to prevent misuse.
i feel that there should be a system to reduce unnecessary bans and timeouts for new chatters that require a warning prior to timeout or ban.
i also feel like bans and timeouts should provide feedback to the chatter as to the reasoning for the ban and refer to the warning for record keeping purposes and to help the user dispute the ban with the chats moderators.
please also consider adding an unban request override for channel creators to review the denial of unban requests that mods have processed to allow further dispute by the chatters so channel creators can review the unban denial reasons so that the unban requests are not immediately denied by the moderators who banned them and the unban request is no longer an option for the chatter and the channel creator is no longer able to see or review the unban requests especially for long time viewers/subscribers/gifters/donators because there may be situations where the mods are banning and then denying unban requests for very little reason and the creator has no recourse short of contacting twitch directly which would increase the support requests. although most streamers barely have time to review these types of disputes and sometimes may not even notice if a long term chatter/beneficiary has been disciplined for little reason.....
Also, as a sidenote i feel that there are moderators who purposefully ban users who are from other channels especially during collabs when the user is friends or long term viewers of the other channels to manipulate the community due to jealousy reasons especially when the chatter is getting attention from the creators.
This creates a very toxic environment for large communities with lots of bans like on international irl streamers and may even be involved in stream stalking/sniping and community coercion or monopolizing on the streamers attention.
this could even be some sort of conspiring against the creator by influencing the community to a small core group with a lot of banned users.
bans and timeouts for a specific channel should have a ratio to determine if the amount of bans and timeouts are proportional to the amount of viewers and chatters on a daily and per stream basis.
Also, i feel that channels with over a certain amount of viewership and partnership ratings should have mandatory twitch staff moderators to review mod interactions and communications to prevent illicit or unprofessional off stream chatting for legal purposes.
i feel that mods should also have reviews on their bans and timeouts by twitch staff. Mods are too often left to their own devices and should be held to a higher standard than the chatters and when they are paid mods they should fall under the same category of punishment or recusal as creators.
