i see y'all's point, but what about legitimate users that include those terms? that seems rather discriminatory... for example there's an old tv show with a character named "hoss" which is actually a nickname that is a mispronunciation of the word "horse" so given because "he's as strong as a horse"... but if somebody loved that show and that character and wanted to use that in their name, u'd be blanket banning them for nothing more than liking a **** tv show... i feel there has to be a better option... some kinda verified bot algorithm or something... i know i've heard of a bot list somewhere, but idk the details

This is apparently happening again, where a mass of bots with similar usernames are being created, with no way to mass ban them. But honestly, this feature could also be utilized for usernames containing workarounds for slurs or other undesirable words/phrases. So I can see multi-purpose out of it, and benefits regardless of the bots.

Although I understand the need of banning him, this solution is really not one we want :/

We're actually lucky these bots all have the same sort of name because we can identify them easily.
If twitch does something like you suggest the bot will simply use another name the next minute. And possibly random names which would make him way harder to track :/

Blocking the mass follow possibility is, to me, the number one thing they should have done for a long time. No legit user needs to follow this fast this many users.

I have been suffering from the bots of this family for a long time. Today in my stream, it has suffered a follow attack from these bots hoss, more than 15 bots that I have had to ban one by one.

Bloquear futuros followers por parte do nome de user antecipadamente

automod que permita bloquear futuros novos followers mas por parte do nome, de forma a impedir bots que fazer follow ao canal, visto que estes usam sempre o mesmo inicio de nome acrescentando apenas alguns caracteres a esse nome. se fosse possivel impedir qualquer user com o inicio ou parte do nome era muito efectivo em termos de segurança.
Bem como bloquear certas palavras no nome do user para que este nao seja indiscreto ou ofensivo.

Basically make a way for people to ban all usernames with a certain phrase in them. For instance, a collection of follow bots with the word "hoss" in their names. Ban users all users with the word "hoss" in their name. That way you don't have to go through and individually ban the bots and it prevents more from doing it.
