prioritization
I would like to suggest an improvement to how Twitch handles Channel Points when watching multiple streams at the same time.
For example:
Stream A has Channel Points enabled.
Stream B has Channel Points enabled.
Stream C does NOT have Channel Points enabled.
I am watching all three streams simultaneously.
My intention is to earn Channel Points from A and B. I am not trying to earn points from C.
However, when C starts streaming and I open C, one of the existing Channel Points sessions (B) may stop receiving Channel Points, while A continues to receive them.
This does not seem logical from a user's perspective.
If Twitch has a limit on how many simultaneous viewing sessions can be used for Channel Points, I suggest that the system should prioritize streams where Channel Points are actually enabled.
In this example, the system should recognize:
A → Channel Points enabled → prioritize
B → Channel Points enabled → prioritize
C → Channel Points disabled → should not consume a Channel Points session
In other words, a stream that does not have Channel Points enabled should not displace a stream that already has Channel Points enabled.
Ideally, Twitch could make the session-selection logic something like:
Prioritize streams with Channel Points enabled.
Keep existing eligible Channel Points sessions active whenever possible.
Do not let a stream without Channel Points enabled cause an eligible Channel Points session to be dropped.
If there is still a limit on simultaneous sessions, apply that limit only among eligible Channel Points streams.
I understand that Twitch may have technical or anti-abuse reasons for limiting simultaneous viewing sessions. I am not asking Twitch to remove those limits. I am simply suggesting that the system should distinguish between streams that have Channel Points enabled and streams that do not.
This would make multi-stream viewing much more intuitive and would prevent users from unexpectedly losing Channel Points progress from a channel they were already watching.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
