Watch streak erroneously broken

Not an idea as such but I reported this issue to Twitch asking them to restore my watch streak and they redirected me to here…

My watch streak was broken the other day even though I was watching a stream from beginning to end and actively chatting throughout the stream. I was watching in Chrome browser on PC. I got a notification after the stream had ended telling me that my streak could still be saved if I watched a clip or the vod, but there was no content to view in order for the streak to be saved. I reached out to Twitch asking if they could manually reinstate the streak given I was present and actively engaging for the entire stream, but they just sent me here…

Has anyone else encountered the same or a similar issue?

    Same. Friday I had a streak of almost 200. Streamer doesn’t do weekends, watched again to see I had been randomly rest to 1. Got the same automated “this is how to restore” and “you wont always get a notification” messages, but those aren’t really an applicable response. I’m using Opera, have notifications turned on for the channel, am active enough to say “morning” and maybe comment here and there, but to be randomly reset back to 1 with no way to actually restore your streak is kind if garbage.

    YES, yes. Exactly my problem, too. Happened to me on my favorite channel somewhere between March 10 and 12. 219 streak just turned into 1 on the next stream. I have proof of presence & chatting in VODs. My streaks on other channels are ok, streaks of other people on the channel in question are ok.

    Just like a chunk of data went missing from a database or haven't been loaded correctly and got rewritten with a new counter, idk.

    This exactly what is happening to me and i found a FAQ https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/recover-watch-streaks#FAQ

    "Why did my streak reset when I was actively chatting and participating?
    This is a known technical issue. Even active participation (chatting, moderator actions, gifting bits) doesn't guarantee streak tracking will work properly. If this happens repeatedly, contact Twitch Support with specific details about your viewing session."

    I also contacted support and they sent me here so it must be an automated response. I thought i would add to you one to hopefully get some exposure to this issue

    This has happened on multiple streams and in some i have lost but in other i have managed to watch the vod or a clip and that only maintains it not adds. I was have some fun keeping up with someone posting our streaks in the chat but now im days behind because of this "Technical issue".

    I dont know how they are coding the streak tracking but its need improvements for sure.
