Massive Flaw with "Stream Streak" feature
Recently have been watching a streamer (who will remain anonymous for now, as it's not relevant who they are), and interacting with the stream & chat almost constantly, building up a huge "watch stream streak" in the process. The week beforehand, I was on the road & not at my usual setup to watch Twitch, and I logged in via the app to join in with chat & the streamer... was there until they raided, and ended up closing the app.
It was only when I went to log in to watch them again the next time they streamed (they took a day off), that I realised my huge watch stream streak had mysteriously been lost, despite interaction with the stream being visible on the VOD (I even checked!).
Dropped an email to support to report this, and one of the explanations they came up with (asides from pointing me towards UserVoice) was that things such as "ad-blockers, VPN's, anti-virus settings or extensions", as apparently, they can "interfere with the viewership tracker".
If something as simple as a VPN, or anything that is meant to keep people safe online (minus ad blockers, obviously) can "interfere with the viewership tracker", then I would suggest this is a huge flaw in the system, that needs to be addressed fairly urgently. I know I won't have been the only person to have lost a very long "watch stream streak", and I'm certain I won't be the last one either... there HAS to be another solution, asides from the 24 hour "save your streak" notification (which I found out does NOT go through as a "push notification" on the mobile app either).
Perhaps a more lenient "save your streak" timescale (48-72 hours?), or potentially a "review lost watch streak" system, either operated from Twitch's end or the streamer's end could help with this?
