Watch streak jiggle notification breaks bit/channel point display
When joining a channel and receiving a watch streak status notification, the section below chat that usually displays bit / channel point totals is instead replaced by an annoying jiggling thing showing the progress of your watch streak. To make it stop jiggling, you have to click it twice (to open the modal that tells you that you are "almost there" and can't do anything anyway). Once you've done that, the section displays only channel points (and not bit totals).
As a consequence, the workflow for joining a stream and not being annoyed is now:
- Click stream
- Click annoying jiggly notification
- Click annoying jiggly notification again
- Refresh page
- Now your page is in its "normal" base state
At the very least, the rendering issue where the status bar loses the bits total should be fixed, that's clearly a bug. But other improvements include:
- If you absolutely must do the jiggle notification thing, at least only do it when there's an actionable step the user can take. It's pretty pointless to force you to interact to clear a notification about something you can't take any action about.
- Better would be to use a momentary notification, much like channel point gains which animate a small "+12" or "+450" or whatever.
- A compromise would be to display the watch streak inline and in addition to the bits and channel points, and just stop jiggling.

This has changed since I posted this, but it's still absolutely awful. You don't have to refresh anymore but it's three clicks to dismiss the notification, which still replaces the normal status bar. It goes away after a bit but then _comes back_, so it's a forced regularly tedious UI operation for no points.
It also straight up lies to you: you get +450 every stream when you're on a streak whether you hit a milestone or not, and sharing the notification doesn't actually give you anything except spam.
Honestly just let streamers turn it off.
