Watch streaks are a nice addition to streams. It incentivizes viewers to come by your stream so they could eventually flex "hey I've been in every single stream since XX day".

What isn't so great is how inconsistently Twitch seems to determine whether or not your watch streak is continuous or not. It would be nice to get actual guidelines on what contributes to the watch streak. Is it time based? Is it determined on whether or not you chat in said stream? Is it some other random variable that is unknown to everyone? There doesn't seem to be any consistency with watch streaks. You could lose your streak midway through a stream for some random reason and there's no indication for why. And "rewatching a clip from the vod" does NOT restore the streak from my experience. I had a 40 streak with a channel that suddenly vanished midway during the stream even though I was very active.

My proposal is to implement a channel redeem that is automatically enabled when a streamer enables watch streaks on their channel and GUARANTEES that the watch streak counter continues. Allow the streamer to customize it to their liking. This would eliminate the confusion of "hey I was in stream but my streak still reset what the heck".
