Separate Editions from Versions The idea is to have a special section called "Editions" which would be different from "Versions". This section would be only dedicated to collector's editions, GOTY and so on. Could be added under the "This game is a version." section on the edit page, as "This game is a special edition."
30 votesHey!
Yesterday we released the first phase of a project to redo version which helps this. We do still have versions, but going forward it will only be used for editions indeed.
we added support for Remake, Remasters, Expanded Games, Ports, and Forks. Any of these won’t need to be marked as a Version anymore :) -
Platform Aliases (PS3, XB1, NGC, etc) When attempting to define a Platform for each title, especially with PlayStation anything, it can be alittle taxing to need to type out the full name of the platform for each entry. Unlike older platforms like "Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)" or "Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)", these platforms do not use their common abbreviations in the title.
Ex. "PlayStation 3" vs. "PlayStation 3 (PS3)"

Redirect Confirmed Dups to Correct Game Pages. (Confirmed in the Pipeline)
After confirming a duplicate listing for deletion, it would be helpful to users that have saved those titles by Following, Saving to Lists or to Played listings to forward those links to the correct page, rather than the "Oops" broken link.Discord:

So shedding some more light onto this.
While we are going to be working on a proper way to remove ‘bad pages, and duplicates’, this project is likely going to come in several phases. The initial phase is removing the pages form the site, and stop syncing them with the API.
The later phase would be us building tools to automatically swap the game IDs on lists, reviews, etc.. which would take care of this. Thanks!

Episodic games do not display all titles in the series/story If a title is listed as an Episode (a game that continues a core story released in stages and/or uses the same game save data), it does not list the other Episodes in the series as Bundles or Expansions do. Currently, you can only link to a single title, and there is no means of stepping to the previous or next Episode.
Ex.
a) .hack//Infection Part 1, .hack//Mutation Part 2, .hack//Outbreak Part 3, .hack//Quarantine Part 4b) Virtually all Telltale games.

Atari Jaguar CD platform I'm not an advocate for the platform, but I feel if Sega CD and 32X addons are their own platforms, this should probably be one as well, even for as short lived as it was.

You can also use it when adding release dates to games. Thanks!

No longer availabe Games / DLCs It would be great to mark games or DLCs/Expansions that are no longer available for purchase, because they have been taken down or the stores selling them have been closed.
In the past™ games were sold on discs - even nowadays, if you can find them, you can play them. Modern games and expansions are often sold online only. If the shops are closing, the possibility to acquire these games is gone, making it impossible for game collectors to legally buy these games. It would be nice to mark games and/or expansions which are impacted by this.4 votesHey!
We recently just added a new game status which should be perfect for this use case: Delisted games.
For digital games that are no longer available via online stores.
For example, P.T is no longer available for download on any digital store, making it delisted.

Add LeapFrog line of consoles/handhelds as platforms LeapFrog is an educational company that creates gaming devices.
The Leapster and LeapPad lines of handhelds use compatible game cartridges.
The LeapTV is closer to a console as it connects to the TV, and it uses its own set of cartridges.
There are many games that have released for these products over the past decade, and it would be great to have them in the database.
3 votesHi there! We have added multiple Leapster platforms to IGDB. You can find them below:

"Standalone Expansions" do not display links to the base game. Currently, if a title is stated to be an Expansion for another game, the Expansion appears in the original game's page. However, Standalone Expansions do not get the same connection, either in the base game or in their own page, even though the option to link them is in the Edit page of the Standalone Expansion.
Examples: MechWarrior 2 and Mercenaries, Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy, Spider-Man PS4 and Miles Morales
https://www.igdb.com/games/mechwarrior-2-31st-century-combat
https://www.igdb.com/games/mechwarrior-2-mercenaries2 votesI believe this is now solved. Standalone Expansions will display on the Related Content, and on the Standalone Expansion it will mention the parent game.

[Urgent] Add Cometh as stream category Cometh is a PvP strategy card game built on the blockchain, where you need to duel against other players. You will be a spaceship with strategic weapon and you'll be battling enemy Spaceship. The more you rank up with your strategy the more difficult it gets.
We have multiple streamers going live with the game in the upcoming week, could you please add this game as a stream category?

Removing/Renaming "Legacy" Mobile Platform There are times some users confuse the general name of "Mobile" to include iOS, Android and other modern mobile platforms.
It might be prudent to rename this to Legacy Mobile, JAVA, WAP, or other name to help differentiate it form those common names.
