Fix the critics review system to better match the actual rating of a game
Hi there! I'm pretty sure you are aware of this issue and that it might be the case for some years now (at least I found some Reddit threads from 5+ years ago discussing this issue with feedback from your team) but I couldn't find it here and its honestly bugging me a lot.
Your critics review score is completely skewed and therefore useless. This is mainly a big issue for me because currently GOG Galaxy is using IGDB to fetch data, including the critics score rating. When I sort my library by rating, I get games such as Mini Metro with a perfect score of 100% because some website called OKGames that no longer exists has apparently given that score to the game. I can no longer even read the review, what is the usefulness of this? And besides, as good as Mini Metro might be (and it is), it is definitely not a 100% game.
This is why I think your review system is more than overdue an actual review and overhaul. Even something as simple as pulling the critics review data from another website such as Metacritic or Open Critic would be leagues better than what you have currently implemented. For gods sake, Eon Altar, a game that pretty much no one has heard of, sits on my library with a rating of 95, while games such as GTA: San Andreas (93), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (93), The Witcher 3 (92), All 3 of the Dark Souls games (84, 87 and 86) and even Half-Life 2 (with a rating of 79!!) all sit below that rating. This makes the current critics rating system unreliable and useless.
