In modern gaming Publisher, Developer, and everything in between no longer represent the sensibilities and ideas on display in a final product. The real influence on the art, is the artist.

I want for there to be some way to keep track of specific, decision making, people on development teams that make the games we all know and love. I want to follow the writing lead/team of Tyranny, I want to follow the design team/lead of Guild Wars 1, I want to assemble a list of those artists that make the pieces of media I enjoy. Through assembling this web we can more accurately determine if a game really is for us, or if a, relatively, unknown tittle is maybe our next great favorite.

This would require a lot of work, mostly in the curation and maintaining of such information, but I think it's worth it for gaming as a whole. To pay back just a little of how much the games we play delight us.

I know in the past there was a credits section for games, but the maintenance of it was a bit of a bear. In a practical sense it would rely on people going back to titles and running through the credit roll, then maybe even more tracking than that because of how the game industry snubs developers that don't make it all the way over the finish line, while still having influence on the final product. We can also, RESPECTFULLY, utilize social media accounts like LinkedIn to figure out who is on what team.

There is a risk of harassment or unwanted attention by making it more easily known who is responsible for specific aspect of games. Which if this is too great a risk, obviously this request will not work. Even if there isn't a 'follow' option within IGDB, having the credits options available would make it so someone could make and maintain a tool of their own. I hope the gain is greater than the loss.
