Transparency Issues with Animated GIFs at 56x56 and 28x28 Resolutions
Description:
I have discovered a bug in the handling of transparent animated GIFs when uploading emotes at 56x56 and 28x28 resolutions. The issue specifically affects transparency rendering in these smaller sizes.
Details:
- The bug affects animated GIF emotes with transparency
- Occurs specifically at 56x56 and 28x28 resolutions
- The 112x112 version displays correctly with proper transparency
- In affected sizes, some transparent pixels are not being rendered correctly
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an animated GIF with transparency
2. Upload it as an emote
3. Check the 56x56 and 28x28 versions
4. Observe that transparency is not properly maintained in these sizes
Technical Analysis:
- The original GIF correctly contains transparency information
- When resized to 112x112, transparency is maintained properly
- At 56x56 and 28x28, the transparency information appears to be processed differently
- This may be related to the image processing pipeline for smaller resolution variants
Expected Behavior:
- Transparent regions should remain transparent across all size variants
- Consistency in transparency rendering across all three sizes (112x112, 56x56, 28x28)
Current Behavior:
- 112x112 version: Correct transparency
- 56x56 and 28x28 versions: Incorrect transparency rendering
Additional Notes:
This issue affects the quality of animated emotes on the platform, particularly when viewed at smaller sizes.
Environment:
- Platform: Twitch
- Feature: Emote Upload System
- Affected Sizes: 56x56 and 28x28
