Unlock each emote as the level is beaten rather than the highest emote from the train.
Right now if you complete a level 100 Hype Train you will only get KappaInfinite instead of getting BleedPurpleHD, HeyHeyGuys, and PogChomp as well. This leads viewers to feel like they are ripped off because this generally isn't how game progression works.
When we beat a level we expect a reward from that level to be unlocked. We do not expect that reward to be overwritten by a higher level forcing us to have to do it again to unlock the lower tier reward. This is a normal tenet of game design and should apply to Hype Train rewards as well.

I think the official Twitch hype train guide is misleading. The way it currently is, it states in a note "Above Level 5, only 1 emote is available per level reward range." This makes me think "Ok, I get 1 emote per level reward, there's only 1 emote per level range, I get that emote". Stating that "Participating viewers can earn 1 emote per Hype Train." at the beginning gets lost when someone's scrolling through the information. The restrictions should be reiterated in the Notes section and have more clear divisions from each section. (Seriously, a single solid black line would denote a new section well enough.) With such restrictions on rewards, there needs to be far more transparency and clarity, such as a For Example, Level 90 train reward is >this singular emote< and a future hype train reward will be >this singular emote<. There also needs to be a clearly labeled dedicated search feature for hype trains, so viewers can then go into levels that look like they will end at the specific level needed for emotes. I want the cat emote from level 3, so I need to pay real money for the random chance from a pool of rewards. There should be clearer statements about the loot boxes and gacha game mechanics of the hype trains. Don't worry. I'm positive communities will still support their streamers even when they have all the emotes. We care about the streamer more than an emote. Don't punish us for supporting our favorite streamers. Don't make me regret donating to someone only to hit level 4 and no longer have the chance to get the cat emote. (You could also give the option to manually cap hype trains so they don't go over reward levels.) Restricting emotes is fine, if you're clear about it. Which I feel isn't the case at this moment. Give them the emotes and watch as they continue to support the streamer. Trust us.

It seems a bit overlooked to have something so rare happen but not earn each milestone along the way. While yes, it is just a tiny picture, but they really represent what our communities achieve.

It feels like the implementation of this only keeps twitch in mind. Many people who participated in these high, once in a lifetime trains, won’t be able to participate again.
When you beat a level in a game, it doesn’t override your previous reward, it adds to it. It
Certain users may also feel scammed when they try to participate to achieve a certain level, only to be fought by others trying to reach a higher level.

It feels horrible to not get the rewards you deserved. It leaves a foul taste in my month.

I feel like when you get to a very high level hype train you get to get half or maybe all of the emotes because it is harder to reach them and will feel less disappointing when you only get one emote

I'm used to the base level hype trains where you get all of the emotes the train earned, and below. Get to level 5? Cool, you get all of the emotes from levels 1-5.

It is counter-intuitive to have a streaming platform know for gaming go and run a model that differs so VASTLY from games...like what?

It just feels weird. With the system as is, I don't want a hype train to get to 100, I want it to only get to 75, so I get the previous emote. I am disincentivized to participate in a hype train that wants to or could go to 100 because I have that emote.
I don't need a high score, I want to aim for a mid score. Which feels odd.

I feel the hype trains should operate on a progression system the more you participate the more you unlock and if you are in multiple hype trains, then you could get prestige versions of the emotes or chromas in different colours almost like a martial art progression system after the original version.

The system might demotivate people to participate in Hype trains leading to less engagement for a community and less revenue. The feeling of achieving something to then lose the achievement is very unsatisfying. I believe the streamer as well as the community will feel the downside of this system

Completely agree. We are mainly gamers and expect to unlock previous or lower-tier achievements when we reach the higher/ultimate goal. As a primary gaming streaming platform, this should be the logic for new systems.

Rewards should be accumulative, as this current system not only feels predatory, it undermines what should have been an amazing achievement. We worked together as a community to reach this high level, and it feel bad that any of us who received more than one emote got them as a bug and not as something we earned.

This completely invalidates the value of pushing a Hype Train to a higher level, now since everyone had gotten KappaInfinite they will have no drive to push to that level ever again, only lower ones so that they can have the other emotes that Twitch feels they should overwrite with the highest, making it less of a feeling of achievement.

Good night,
Look, I'm a really simple dude,
bigger number more reward > bigger number ONE reward.
See how simple that is?

The current implementation incentivises people to stop the train at a certain level to get the emote for that level. If enough people hunt that certain emote then they will stop donating and people that hoped for the next tier emote won't be able to get it.
Which in turn will demoralize them from joining the next hype trains since you will never know when people will stop donating because they hunt an emote. -

Current iteration makes me unwilling to participate in a hype train if it doesn't have a high level already. If I know I won't get anything new, then I see no point in contributing to the progress. I'm pretty sure there are more people who feel the same way, making it way harder to reach higher levels.

Surely this is the way it should be. . Take kickstarter when you bid on an item a tier x, everything below tier x comes with it not just tier x.

Essentially unlocking an emote and then then not getting it because another tier is reached seems counter-intuitive. You wouldn't want people to stop the train at a lower tier just to not miss out on the lower tier emote.
Since those who already have a higher tier will then try to stop the train to get the lower tier emote if they don't have that one.
