Unlock each emote as the level is beaten rather than the highest emote from the train.
Right now if you complete a level 100 Hype Train you will only get KappaInfinite instead of getting BleedPurpleHD, HeyHeyGuys, and PogChomp as well. This leads viewers to feel like they are ripped off because this generally isn't how game progression works.
When we beat a level we expect a reward from that level to be unlocked. We do not expect that reward to be overwritten by a higher level forcing us to have to do it again to unlock the lower tier reward. This is a normal tenet of game design and should apply to Hype Train rewards as well.

The current system does not feel great and makes me not want to participate in Hype Trains.

I don't think that Twitch platform was trying to ripoff viewers...
I genuinely think it's a misunderstanding.
I strongly believe that this matter will be resolved to everyone's satisfaction shortly. -

I didn't even know it was a thing. I got emotes in two separate trains, and thought it's a delay in distributing emotes. It feels like emotes should be cumulative.

It's hard to want to participate in something again when it feels like you have already earned an achievement.

Agree with this completely, it just makes sense.

PirateSoftware perfectly expresses my feelings. I was disappointed to see only one new emote unlocked at the end of the hype train.

I didn't get HeyHeyguys and got all the other emotes and this is literally the only hypetrain I was a part of. This felt like a bug, but apparently me getting all emotes besides KappaInfinite is a bug. It feels very bad, since to get all emotes I would have to be a part of a hypetrain, then hope it fails at the right level. Feels like a casino at this point, very bad.

100% agree with this. Feels odd to not be rewarded after completing every level.

I got the Pog and Kappa, but not the Bleed and Hey.

I agree, having to game the system to get an emote for each tier feels awful. I feel exploited trying to get the rewards individually.

If this is unintentional it feels buggy. If this is intentional this feels counter intuitive and like a manipulative tactic to force repeated participation in high level trains.

I've always assumed you would have gotten all the rewards instead of just one.
Frankly it makes me upset this is the direction of these incentives, this needs to be addressed to avoid other issues.

When I play a game I expect to collect rewards along the way. If level 2 removes my rewards from level 1 then that makes me feel like I'm missing out on rewards that I worked for. The hype train being gamified has been wonderful, I just feel like the tiers should be handed out on top of each other. I rode the whole train, I want to feel like the whole track mattered.

I concur with PirateSoftware. It has been very confusing for everyone in the community who has either received some combination of these emotes without receiving all of them, or has not received any. We realize that this record was unprecedented and quite honestly seems to have caught Twitch off guard, but all it takes to fix this and ease everyone's mind is some simple, clear commnunication from leadership.

Considering it is a website for mainly gaming streams, it is recommended to have systems similar to gaming to make us, the viewers, feel good for engaging with this system. Rewards need to be accumulative, not overwritten by the highest one.

I completely agree with this opinion. I really love the hype trains and hype train emotes are just a *chef's kiss* addition. I think just changing the strategy to follow along what Thor outlines here makes more sense and avoids confusion. Thanks for all you do Twitch!

Completely agree. It feels weird that as a community that can hit a very high level of support, in order to unlock the others we have to show...less support? Feels clunky and just not how I think anyone expects the system to work.

If you get a gold rewards for a timed quest in a game should it not unlock the bronze/silver rewards. Think about it.
