Unlock each emote as the level is beaten rather than the highest emote from the train.
Right now if you complete a level 100 Hype Train you will only get KappaInfinite instead of getting BleedPurpleHD, HeyHeyGuys, and PogChomp as well. This leads viewers to feel like they are ripped off because this generally isn't how game progression works.
When we beat a level we expect a reward from that level to be unlocked. We do not expect that reward to be overwritten by a higher level forcing us to have to do it again to unlock the lower tier reward. This is a normal tenet of game design and should apply to Hype Train rewards as well.

Completely agree with PirateSoftware. Also, 50k+ subs and 8M+ bits is a steep price for a few emotes. Let alone just one.

The current system goes against the vast majority of progression/milestone systems implemented world wide in various systems.
Imagine if a completed project was considered completed by a customer if you went back and redid critical milestones and sent them separately for approval instead of the just the end product getting approved, and you could only get paid fully after going back to redo said milestones.

Plain and simple; you should get all emotes up to each milestone period. The concept of HAVING to be a part of specificly tiered/targeted hype trains to "collect them all" is a gross ideology and completely misses the point.

To be honest, I feel it's kinda lame that if you are a part of a hypetrain and you want the 5 emotes on that specific "level", you only get 1 out of 5 and not all 5 emotes so you have to get to the same level 5 times to get all the emotes, if you are lucky and it doesn't reach the new level so you have to it all over again.
But that's just my humble opinion.

I missed this hypetrain, but as the OP said, rewards should be cummulative, not overwrite each other. You shouldnt be penalized for reaching above a goal. If you go above a goal target, you should recieve bonus rewards (in this case the extra emotes). It would be weird if for example person A wanted to get pogchomp and person B wanted KappaInfinite that person B gets their wish but person A doesnt because others pushed it beyond the treshhold.

My SO and I both participated in the 106 hype train via sub, however while I subbed in probably the first 15 levels, and they much later, they [adparo] got 4/5 emotes, and I am still waiting to receive any. I understand that the policy is to only get KappaIninite and DidIBreakIt, however the confusion surrounding this matter has definitely seemed strange, and I wish this would have been properly announced beforehand.

It feels like a broken system, I'd file this as a bug if I was part of QA. We've passed the level required for the hype train but the emotes specific to levels do not get unlocked. It feels the same as completing an achievement in the game but not getting the other achievements that you've completed throughout the process of doing that one achievement. It is sadly a negative experience and makes it feel like I'm getting scammed or nickel and dimmed.

Users should get all level emotes as they are paying towards each one to make it to the next goal. A awesome community come together to achieve that only to get 2 emotes when the goal was to get them all.

I participated in the record Hype Train, and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for adding the custom 'DidIBreakIt' emote.
As mentioned by a number of people I had expected that, after reaching lvl 100, we would be unlocking all the emotes to that point. I never questioned it, it's how I just expected it to go based on my experience gaming. I was disappointed to find out I was wrong. Going 'back' for achievements (or emotes in this case) does not feel good. Please consider changing.

After taking part in the level 106 hype train, seeing users getting all emotes led me to get excited for getting them myself, however I only received 2 (DidIBreakIt not included), after submitting a ticket, I learned that this was intended and others getting more was luck and not intentional. This made me feel unwanted as luck of the draw meant I got less stuff, and also confused as to how the system worked. I feel that having a system that erases a reward when a higher level one is acquired, is counter intuitive and feels bad, as well as being the opposite of what gamers such as myself are used to from gaming in our lives. Higher level hype trains are not a common thing, and the community that hit 106 is the only community I am in that is capable of hitting high level trains, which furthers the negative feeling.

I believe this change would actually work in the benefit of Twitch. As emotes are nothing more than just unlockable for people and there's no real "scarcity", it can be treated as a milestone in a game. It would incentivize people to contribute to hypetrains either with subs or bits, as if they are participating in a server wide event in a game, or just like in Helldivers, working together towards a common goal (liberating planets). As the game that implements this change has around 200.000 active current players and high player praise, i think it's safe to assume that it's a good idea to implement.

Very much agree, if you're going to gamify a system like this, it feels very strange and unsatisfying for both the viewer and streamer to only unlock the highest tier reward after completing every step on the way there and receiving none of those mid-tier rewards as the levels are being beaten. Very strange and unsatisfying.

Consistency should be in place, a hype train reaches to a level. Meaning all remaining rewards on previous levels should be awarded as a community together provided to the hypetrain to go as far.
In other words, every stations got reached so the journey continues until the fuel is consumed.

Hype trains are supposed to be hype, and the way the banner says implies you get all the emotes from all stages of the train. Otherwise you are trying to play the dumbest game of stopping at a certain point. Give all the emotes!

This is true. When I spend money to level up a train I don't wanna spend more, because I didn't feel a need to spend it earlier.. :/

Initially, I thought that’s how unlocking the Hype Train emotes worked, so I was very confused that some emotes were missing from my list. I was ready to contact support about it until I saw this post. Please Twitch, do what the poster is requesting. This makes total sense.

I like that you get ALL the emotes if you actually reach the goal, its not like the community didnt pass all the previous milestones? Whats wrong with it.
