Please Improve the Verified Badge Policy

I believe that the Verified Badge is misinterpreted and should definitely be reworked. I am of the opinion that this badge is interpreted as a partner badge. Because currently only partners get this badge, this should be changed in my opinion. In fact users should also qualify for this badge if they are not a partner. So that also the following users are also eligible:

  • Users who are Twitch Partners.
  • Users who are Twitch Affiliates.
  • Users who are Twitch Developers.

I mean: Users who have completed the onboarding, to confirm the identity. Furthermore you could confirm the identity at twitch events to have a two factor process (id check). That it is really this person.

I'm quoting from the Apr 24, 2017 article on Twitch: "We will be developing a policy on which additional users might qualify for this badge in the coming months."

That was several years ago and nothing has changed.

    I am told Twitch this 5 years ago, Until 2023 They never FIX it.

    Users who are Twitch Partners. ( Blue ) is added
    Users who are Twitch Affiliates. ( Green) is never added )
    Users who are Twitch Developers. ( Yellow is never added )
    Users who are Twitch viewers real name copy padport id proof real person) is also never added, Real red Dot Not Proog accound Gery dot Bot accounts Red dot.

    Its very easy to add this. But Out forst hand insider Twitch crew told me,
    Twitch like more First big stream platform, and give any BS, our this accounts are real, out bot, the number accounts were importanter then proff real person per account per IP adres is. and YEss i am belive this Twitch insider, whit out saying the name. Twitch make allot dollar whit fake accounts. How?

    Peeps add gifted subs random and bot become a subs LOL< not real accounts become subscriber. and Twitch Lauching hard we have the money.

    and that is why Twitch never lsting to this ideas tons of this request is on Uservoice.

    and So Long Twitch Verified Badge Policy Never wil Change wil all streamers have hat raid, Trolls, Gifted subs random and fake account become this, is money for Twitch and streamers, wel i am will real account become subs and not bots ect.

    So Twitch dickheads change Verified Badge Policy Make Twitch nfreindly for Viewers gifted subs and real accounts include streamer wish.
    Step over you ******** Verified Badge Policy and understand TEre are Tons and tons fake account Troll accounts, hatraid account ect.

    I disagree. Affiliate is very easy to obtain compared to Partner and there is a much higher percentage of affiliates than partners. Give affiliates and devs a different badge than partners.

    I think an affiliate badge would be a good idea something to distinguish non affiliates from affiliates and from partners I don't have and idea for a design maybe a red x mark or something else

    I don't think this is a good direction. I think most people understand what it is after seeing it a couple times.
    I think that identity confirmation is important though, so instead of a badge, i think that it should be all handled individually by each channel through a setting. Currently we have one identity confirmation setting and it does one thing, and that's you must have a verified email to chat. If we had more options here with further identity verification, it'd fix most problems.

    It's a great idea! At the beginning I thought this badge is representing, that this user has varified his or her identity. I was really confused when I heard it's a badge which only partners have. :(
