Glad I found this before I gifted more then one sub, I feel its a bit disrespectful of Twitch to do this. I will stick with cheering to support my fav streamers. Have Twitch even bothered to reply.

TIL this is a thing. It's really not user friendly to take away a sub gift badge if you don't continue gifting subs each month. If someone gifts even 10 subs, that's a badge they've earned and should keep forever.

I used to be able to just re-show the badge in the past, but it seems with the most recent update it is completely gone.

It seems a bit weird, since the Bit badges don't go away at all (and also, you can choose to show a lower one even if you have the higher).

It would be nice if they'd stick around, because even when we don't have any active gift subs, showing our support to the channel using those badges seems like the thing to do regardless (especially for higher badges)

I agree. I gifted 3 subs the other day to get my badge back, and it didn't even return and those gifts are active. This should be changed.

I agree as I have a couple people with over 1000 gifted subs!!! this is a huge deal and they don't even get custom emotes for the many thousands dollars they have spent.

Yeah this needs to happen. I don't get why Bit Badges are permanent but sub badges need to be earned each month

Yeah, after gifting 100 subs, I feel like the least twitch can do is let us keep the icon to show we support the channels we do.

I wasn't aware of this. It's rather silly that the bits badge outlives the gift sub badge. :/

its weird because i was just looking at the gifted sub leader board on iiTzTimmys channel and it has all time gifters and like i'd figure that your name would remain up there forever like i gifted on sub and it showed what rank i was out of all the other gifters and how many gifted which was one but still my place on the leaderboard disappeared right alongside the badge and if thats the case i'm not gonna say imma stop gifting because i want to support the streamer but its just not as rewarding

Agreed. 100 gift subs is $500 at Tier 1. We should be allowed to keep that badge over the 1 bit badge.

If you gift e.g. 1k subs (worth 5,000$) to a channel you lose the related sub gift badge 1 month later. (except you keep gifting subs)

If you cheer 1 bit (worth 1ct) to a channel you'll have the 1 bit cheer badge forever (no more cheering required)

Having gifted hundreds of subs myself, I really would appreciate being able flex my gift sub badge whenever I want, especially for the channel where I have gifted almost 1,000 subs to that channel. Some months, I just get hit hard financially and I can't afford to gift any subs. So does that mean that I can't have my 500 gifted subs badge as a punishment? Doesn't make sense.

Same goes for cheering badges if they disappear after a month of cheer inactivity for a channel.

I think those with 1,000 sub gifts in a channel should have permanent gift badge in that channel.

Came across this while reading about sub gifter badge: "It stays visible for as long as any gift sub you have given is active, and disappears when your gifted subs expire" I found out today that this was a thing. Which to me is strange because some people gift a lot of subs to support a streamer and the one perk they are being given is temporary, lasting a month at most. I thought it was a bug that the sub gifter badge would go missing but that apparently was not true. I really think it should be permanent. Some people have hit a thousand gifted subs in channels only for it to disappear.

Just a heads up, you can choose what badge(s) to display by clicking the cogwheel at the bottom of a chat and selecting your name under "Chat Identity". Hope this helps!
