I can just agree with the many comments i read here: I don't care about the feature. I personally think it's **** and just another money-thirsty trap, but if people are willing to use it and implement it in their stream, it's fine. Not my business, do what you want.
But rolling it out so secretly, popping up in the middle of nowhere and FORCING everyone to use it - oh common, how desperately are you craving the money, twitch!?

I don't personally mind the new toy, but seeing as a growing number of channels are setting power-ups to the maximum price to discourage their use, I'm in the camp that there needs to be an opt-out. Streamers can opt-out of hype trains, so this should be no different.

And for crying out loud, give people advance notice when you roll out stuff.

Seems like a huge distraction for some types of content, like many Software and Game Development streams where viewers are trying to focus on the content, not the hype. Being forced to have it available makes me feel a little unwelcome as a streamer who doesn't stream manic hype content.

TOGGLE SWITCH PLEASE! THIS SHOULD NOT BE MANDATORY! Hate this powerup system. If you can't toggle it at least put it in the bits menu instead.

Should be opt in, very frustrating to see that you now need to scroll down to see my channel point rewards.
Just because default channel point rewards are uninspired and lazy like "Posture check!" or "hydrate!" doesn't mean that people don't put actual time and effort into them such as software integration, broadcast edits or even real time gameplay alterations.

Not to mention that the power ups are pathetic and uninspired, making an emote bigger? sparkly text? Twitch must have been brainstorming for months!

Scraping the barrel on this one. Let’s be fair, twitch isn’t actually free, money is taken from every streamer affiliated/partnered. At least we should retain the ability to portray our vibe on the platform. Don’t frame it as if you’re helping us make more money, When past actions have placed us here now making less than ever before. Besides integrity might come first for some of us . Good thing I'm a small streamer, at least I'm not bothered with trolls who could spam one of these features to annoy me or my chat.

Obviously you need to add the "turn off" feature, just asfor the channel points rewards.

And as a viewer and streamer, the only "nice" power-up is the giant emote in some cases. When there's an epic fail/win, or when I finish a game, the giant emote is nice, because you can put a bigger emote to celebrate, and in the same time give some bits to the streamer to congratulate him.

On the other hand, the message effects is meh, and the on-screen celebration is completely useless because : the streamer can't see it ! What's the point of showing a few emotes floating (not a great celebration btw) if the streamer can't see what's happening ?

So yeah, give us the ability to turn off the features, just like the channel points.

As a viewer, I find this feature to be HORRIBLE. Read the room! This is a disgusting and greedy money grab, only proving what an insensitive company you are running.

really would like the agency to control what appears on my stream and on my viewers interface. absolutely not great that a random person can come in and use the feature that puts emotes across the screen with an emote that doesn't follow channel guidelines. add a toggle for these features please !

As a viewer, putting bit redeems in the channel point menu is just dishonest. "Oh, you don't want to pay money for Twitch? Maybe you'll pay money by accident, then."

This will ruin trust between viewers and streamers.

Incredibly obnoxious. Allow both the streamer to disable them, AND the viewers. Let us disable all of these giant emotes, on screen emote spam, all of it. Appaling.

Like many others here, it's not the feature itself that I take issue with, but the manner in which it was rolled out, which is a recurring and extremely frustrating problem with Twitch. Literally all you had to do was add an on/off switch. The fact that you explicitly chose not to--and then tried to justify it with some nonsense about a "consistent viewer experience"--speaks volumes. Try actually talking to streamers (all of them, not just the top 1%) about what they do and do not want from your platform once in a while.

The execution of this feature feels like it's a students summer project than an actual thought through well developed improvement. The big emotes turn chat into an even less observable nightmare than it already is for mods. Not having the ability to disable this stuff is something I can't wrap my head around. Not to mention that the stuff doesn't show up properly after a quick F5 or in vods.
Every user should be allowed to control their own chat window.
Maybe you should create some plugins for obs instead to allow bits to cause stream/server side events and give streamers control about what they want and don't want to use. Instead you just shove it down everyone's throat.
Maybe Twitch should take a cut of the bits being used to invest into an quality assurance department

The fact that 'channel point redeems' have a toggle while these 'bit redeems' are forcefully shoved on our screens really tells a lot about the direction this platform is going to
